Last night sucked. I can't stand the traitorous thonghorns. I especially don't like losing to them in anything.

For the 20-21 season our record was 2-22.

Since then we are 39-23 which includes a 15-18 conference mark. To me, this indicates our staff and team have done a pretty incredible job. I don't think it's been easy.

We have 2 top-ten recruiting classes coming in. Perhaps we'll work some portal magic as well. Either way, I see us having recruiting success that will lead to better teams.

We are who we are. If they could sprinkle some pixie dust on these guys they would. Having some animal agriculture-related experience, I've seen many come along with miracle solutions that were less than pixie dust. Reality is real. It smacks you in the face every day.

The recent 2-6 doesn't cut it for the hopes & dreams. As much as it sucks for my (our) vicarious connection, it has to feel worse for those actually involved in making the effort.

I'm still going to hope for the "somehow" that leads us further than we expect we'll go at this time. I do believe this team can do it "IF". I want it badly for these guys. I appreciate what they've done for us.

If the Big 12 added two non Pac schools to hit the Pacific time zone, who would you add. Candidates seem to be SDSU, Fresno State, UNLV. Surprisingly Fresno draws the most fans. Commissioner Y has said he plans to add that time zone with or without PAC schools. Boise State is in the mountain zone

I’ve heard a couple comments it has been delayed that didn’t sound positive. Anyone heard anything definite? Espn indicated they would have an update soon.

Update: said surgery has been delayed until swelling goes down.

Iowa State offers, prepares to host 2024 Oklahoma TE

My spouse, Tammy, had not been herself the last week or so. She’s been increasingly struggling with memory - just sort of out of it to a degree. Brought her to Mercy in Des Moines yesterday. A brain tumor was discovered. Surgery will be performed tomorrow, Thursday, to remove as much of the tumor as they can. After 2 or 3 weeks of healing, radiation and chemo treatments will commence.

We are people of faith and believers in the power of prayer. No response to this post is necessary. I simply ask any and all to send your prayers Tam’s way.

Been fighting this for nearly 3 years... Had a surgical date at the beginning of Covid and it was cancelled (voluntary surgery). Symptoms have varied but have ALWAYS been on the left side. From wrist pain (treated as carpal tunnel) to elbow pain (treated as ulnar nerve inflammation) to shoulder pain (after a complete shoulder rebuild (not replacement)) where my shoulder surgeon said lets grab an MRI which came back with lots of stenosis, lots of osteophytes, etc...

I've had 2 hip replacements, 3 knee scopes, full shoulder rebuild, and now this fusion. Definitely in the osteo portion of my life and hope to have at least 1 year where I'm not hurting AND not healing from another procedure...

Any experiences others can share? How did it turn out, positive or negative, regrets doing it, regrets not doing it sooner, etc...

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State Letterwinners Club unveiled the Iowa State Athletics Hall of Fame class of 2023 today. Five former Cyclone coaches and stars will be inducted into the Iowa State Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday Sept. 22 in a ceremony at the Sukup End Zone Club in Ames.

All five inductees will be honored at halftime of the Iowa State-Oklahoma State game on Saturday Sept. 23.

To be eligible for the Hall of Fame, athletes and coaches must be 10 years removed from their final season of competition at Iowa State. The ten-year waiting period can be waived if a coach or administrator ends his/her career in the Iowa State University intercollegiate athletics program.

Registration to purchase tickets for the banquet will open at a later date on cyclones.com.

Public tickets are $50 and athletic alumni are encouraged to join us for the entire weekend with reunion benefits.

The Iowa State Athletics Hall of Fame was established in 1997. A total of 204 Cyclone legends have been bestowed the highest honor by the Iowa State Athletics Department via a selection committee comprised of Iowa State administrators and athletic alumni.

Sunshine State DB talks Iowa State interest, spring visit plans

The Cyclones and Longhorns tip off around 8 pm tonight inside the Moody Center in Austin. The game will be carried on the Longhorn Network. I’ll have the periodic updates in the thread below.

I've always liked Fran Franschilla doing Big 12 games but his love affair with Bill Self this year is starting to annoy the hell out of me. My guess is when Fran goes to the gym he is decked out in Adidas gear from one end to the other.

Some stats on the incoming freshmen*

Audi Crooks is averaging 30 points and 13.8 rebounds per game and is shooting 75 percent from the field despite going 0-6 from three so far.

Arianna Jackson is averaging 19.7 ppg, 8.7 RBs, 2,8 assists and 3.8 steals per game for a mediocre Roosevelt team that is 10-7 on the year.

Kelsey Joens is averaging 23.7 ppg, 12.2 RBs, 3.7 assists and 4 steals per game for 10-5 Liberty

Addy Brown, our McDonald's all-American, is averaging 20.2 ppg, 10.1 RBs and 4 assists per game.

Jalynn Bristow is at a new smaller school now and it's tough to find info on how she's doing, but at her old school, she averaged 22.39 ppg and 12.38 RBs for her career. She averaged 27..6 and 15.5 last year. She has had numerous 30+ point games this year, but as far as an average goes, I have no idea.
