Chris Beard: Free like a bird

All charges dropped.

I called this back when it was all going down. I wonder how quickly he sues UT....goona be tough to fire "for cause" and pay no settlement when apparently, lo and behold, somehow no crime was committed.

I hate the whole situation. Beard appears to me to be a scumbag, and UT may get slammed here too now. Which I am fine with.

But I just knew he would skate. Ugh.

Anyone watching ESPN right now?

They are going over the tournament matchups for the zillionth time today, and some bald guy said, and I quote:

"Hey, I am NOT an Iowa State fan....but they have maybe the most advantageous draw. I HATE to say this, but Iowa State could advance to the Sweet 16."

Their disdain for us is more than palpable. It's gross, frankly. I don't think there is another team about which he would have it phrased that way.

NIL: The Gap Between Blue-Chip Universities and HBCUs

Between Aug. 1, 2022, and mid-February, 145 University of Texas student-athletes had earned $5,091,521.

UT men's basketball players have earned at least $1,783,684 since Aug. 1 — though that could change depending on how the basketball team fares in the NCAA tournament.

Overall, UT student-athletes reported roughly 915 NIL sponsorships since Aug. 1, or about $5,600 per deal.

B12 WBB TV ratings nugget

from sportsmediawatch.com

Shifting to conference tournament action, the Texas-Iowa State Big 12 Tournament final averaged a 0.19 rating and 343,000 viewers on ESPN2 earlier Sunday — more-than-doubling last year’s audience of 156,000 for Texas-Baylor.

That is a huge number of eyeballs for a women's game. Even crazier that it was on ESPN2, which generally is below anything on ESPN, and especially versus anything on over the air.
As a comparison, our football game against OSU on ESPNU had 272,000 viewers. Of course there was oodles of good competition for eyeballs during that football game, but still interesting to compare.

Iowa State hoops in Greensboro…who’s going?

Talk about a place not real easy to get to. Airfare prices were prohibitive, so I’m driving and taking the wife and kiddos along for the ride. Our 15 and 10 year old will be telling stories for years about that spring break trip to Greensboro.

Leaving Tuesday morning, staying in Dayton that night, then heading to Asheboro on Wednesday. That was the closest reasonably priced hotel we could find. But only about 30 minutes down the road from Greensboro, so not bad.

Really killing time this afternoon....

on Lundardi's last 4 byes....last 4 in bracketology scenario and including Oklahoma State as the first one out.

I know Lundardi is not the last say but...what do you think about not including Oklahoma State on the data below in the toughest conference by data standings?

According to the NCAA college basketball strength ranking and ratings college wide....they have kansas 1, texas 2, baylor 4. Iowa State 5, west virginia 6, oklahoma 10, oklahoma state 12, kansas state 19, and texas tech 27.

Conference Power ranking at Big Twelve #1 (by a far margin), big 10 #2, sec #3, big east #4(i would almost debate that over #2 and #3), pac 12 #5, acc #6, acc #7, and mountain west #8ish.

One edit.... is the top 25 wins at the time they played.

Can anyone document a Infrastructure project in Iowa from the Biden Infrastructure bill?

Here is what was promised Biden Infrastructure Bill for Iowa.

So I am trying to figure out where the 3.4 B for Iowa roads is going? Since i-380 is the most important road project that is needed in Iowa that is not currently under construction, I would have to think that the IDOT would be FOCUSED on getting funds from the 3.4 B in road funds that supposedly is coming to Iowa, to complete the widening of I-380 now, and yet, they have no additional funding lined up, and the project is still a good 10 years from completion. So where is Biden's money?
