Procter, Others Talk About NIL Deals

Kadyn Proctor is an Iowa native and committed to the Hawkeyes back in June. But the day before the Early Signing Period opened, he opted to flip to Alabama. Proctor said he had “thousands” of people coming at him about the decision saying it came down to Alabama offering more money.

He finds that a little ironic given the Hawkeyes had a better NIL package.

“When these stories come out, I hope they understand that,” Proctor said. It wasn’t about the NIL money, because I’m not getting as much money as Iowa would’ve paid me.”

***Temporarily locked out of Twitter***

Seems it was about two years almost to the day that I got locked out before, around the time Iowa State was playing in the Fiesta Bowl. Well, it's happened again for who knows why. Twitter asking me to verify my phone number, then not sending a text to me phone with a code to enter to verify my phone number. So...I've started the resolution process with the bloated bureaucracy known as Twitter. How long will that take? I have no clue.

So now seems to be a good time to remind you of the @CycloneReport (https://twitter.com/CycloneReport) Twitter handle that I also utilize and to give it a follow if you haven't already, as that is what I'm primarily using during the @williamseals down period.

Latest SEC Shorts video...EUI/UK reference...

Latest "SEC Shorts" video about UGA having "Hope" again as they prepare to road-trip for the championship game. (The recurring Hope character is pretty much the football fan equivalent of the Siren's Song) One reference was a shot at Kentucky having hope earlier in the season...with the comment "And, they just lost to IOWA in a bowl game! I didn't know a punter could score 3 touchdowns!"...lol. Just another dose of reality for EIU about how their opinion of themselves and the real world view are SOOOO different.

Also, I am looking forward to the SEC Shorts video once TCU takes care of business ... hopefully.

OU, the last 8 seconds

A great example of how well coached our guys are and how well they adhere to TJ's plan happened at the end of the game. Also an example of how his demeanor carries over to the team.

Tamin was tackled on the inbound play. We turn the ball over, up one, at the most critical part of the game. Everyone there saw it except the refs. Tamin gets up and doesn't even give the ref a look. Otz doesn't rant or rave on the sidelines. None of the players bitch to the ref. They just walk into the timeout huddle ready to listen and figure out how they can still win the game. Impressive

2023-24 MBB Roster

Way too early but maybe worth keeping track of.

Incoming Freshmen
Omaha Biliew
Milan Momcilovic
Kayden Fish
Jelani Hamilton

Sophomores
Tamin Lipsey
Eli King
Demarion Watson

Others
Caleb Grill - Covid Senior (likely)
Jeremiah Williams- Covid/RS Junior (likely)
Robert Jones - Covid Senior - possible
Hasan Ward - Covid Senior - not sure
Tre King - Covid Senior - least likely

Tre King I am basing on an interview after his first game that basically said he wanted to make the most of his year in Ames.

Big win

This is the kind of game I would expect us to have a good chance of winning if the shoe were on the other foot. If we had a decent but not world beating team and we were facing a ranked team in our house, I would like our chances of winning. So to beat a decent but not world beating team on their home floor is a huge win, IMO, and something we didn't do much of last year in conference play.

Instagram

In response to a post on Clanton's hire (I think from Cyclone FB 🤷‍♂️ ) I responded along the lines of "Now get out there and blow some holes🏈" I received a "warning" from IG that it was similar to other comments that had been "reported" and did I want to continue. I've also received "warnings" from IG for calling Putin "evil". Meta is messed up.
