Trump lays wreaths while Biden extends his vacation.

August 26th 2021, is a far more tragic date and threat to democracy in this country than January 6th, the same year. It represents the U.S. botched withdrawal from Afghanistan with 13 soldiers dying as they tried to do their assigned jobs of manning a gate to sort through people trying to get out in the withdrawal. Biden wanted so badly to make the withdrawal complete on September 11, that he screwed up the one thing from the Trump Administration he did not stop.

Joey was there to see the 13 caskets come home though he was regularly looking at his watch. Must’ve had a waiting ice cream cone melting. Of course, he couldn’t find the time in his busy vacation schedule to be around for today’s memorial to them.

Maybe he assigned the last person in the room when he made that disastrous decision to attend. The other six allies involved were not in agreement with Joey’s decision, but had no say in the matter. Of course Joey tried to blame it on Trump, as he has just about everything he has screwed up the last four years. Not a “Buck stops here” kind of guy.

The last person in the room was too busy avoiding interviews and reading from teleprompters to attend. No problem, a real President showed up.

Actions speak louder than words. We should all know that as the current shadow President shouts his words thinking it makes him look important to the world.

More conspiracy theories debunked (props to Zuckerberg)

In his letter to the Senate today he finally admits the Biden Administration asked/pressured Facebook to remove or suppress information on:

- Hunters laptop and Biden family corruption/Burisma being real (i.e. not Russian disinformation)
- Origins of Covid
- Efficacies of the vaccines and if other treatments may work

Those are the things he mentioned, sure there others. We all know Twitter did the same things, and we’d probably see a similar letter if Elon hadn’t purchased it. Millions and millions of people get information and news from social media.

Roofing Companies Recommendation

So we were approved for a new roof and gutters. Had 4 roofers take a look and they all said about the same thing. Been working closer with Trevor of Premier Syestems Roofing who has been great and really fought for us. However, he is local but the company isn't and I believe they contract outside for the work. The other 3 are local. I'm pretty loyal on this type of business but but think a couple local companies will "assist" with my deductible which is $2,200. One in particular has done this his whole life and has his own crew. Anyone have experience with Premier? I'm meeting with Trevor of Premier this afternoon and a local contractor tonight.

FOOTBALL ***RELEASE: Iowa State Announces 2024 Football Captains***

Iowa State Media Relations

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell has announced the team captains for the 2024 football season.

Seniors Beau Freyler and Jaylin Noel will be captains for a second-straight season, while fellow senior J.R. Singleton will be Iowa State’s third permanent captain in 2024. ISU will have also have a fourth captain for each game, chosen on a weekly basis throughout the season.

Beau Freyler – Sr. – Colorado Springs, Colo.

Freyler has been a mainstay in the Cyclone lineup since arriving on campus for the 2021 season. He’s made 25 career starts and was a CSC First-Team Academic All-American in 2023.

Jaylin Noel – Sr. – Kansas City, Mo.

Like Freyler, Noel will be serving as team captain for the second-straight season. He was an All-Big 12 performer last season and is a threat on both offense and special teams.

J.R. Singleton – RSr. – Gurnee, Ill.

Singleton will be serving as a team captain for the first time in his career. He made eight starts as a redshirt junior and had his most productive season with 22 tackles and a career-high 3.5 sacks, all of which came in Big 12 play.

The Cyclones open the season Saturday at 2:30 p.m. when they host FCS No. 22-ranked North Dakota and Jack Trice Stadium. It marks the 50th season of play at Jack Trice Stadium.

The “new” Big12 - historical connections

As the new conference begins, a look back at the interconnections between most of the schools - it’s not as disjointed as some suggest.

The outliers: Quite frankly, WVU and UCF have no real connection with the rest of the conference.

The connections - 3 conferences in one.

The oldest: The Missouri Valley/ Big6-8
The “OG” members: ISU, KSU, and KU
OkSt joined after leaving the SWC but stayed with the Valley after the Big6 split off. Later, Colo joined and Okst rejoined to create the Big8.
Houston and Cinci were in the Valley part of the split in the 50’s and Cincy stayed into the 60’s

Next oldest: The Southwest Conference
The “OG” members are Baylor and TCU (even OkSt started in the SWC). Later, Texas Tech and Houston joined before its demise.

The “newbie”: The WAC.
The “OG” members were the Az and Utah schools. Interestingly, the WAC was formed from the Border conference (which had at one time included the AZ schools, as well as Texas Tech) and the Skyline conference (which had included the Utah schools and Colorado). Of course, TCU joined when the SWC dissolved.

He has to be the dumbest man on the planet

Trump saying that 100 percent of jobs created by the Biden administration went to immigrants. -- It's actually beyond 100 percent, by much more than that, but the government hasn't caught up with that yet, he said.

I never put that last sentence in quotes because it's probably not verbatim but just from memory.

He actually believes you can have more than 100 percent of anything. What a doofus.
