FOOTBALL RECRUITING ***February signing period thread including coaches press conference***

Obviously, the December signing period is now the most important one when it comes to all coaching staffs across the country, and Iowa State is no different in that regard. However, the Cyclones will still be announcing a few new additions tomorrow. Here are the details:

Iowa State is expected to sign one scholarship player tomorrow, as well as five new preferred walk-ons.

Unfortunately, we were viciously exposed tonight

What we will see the rest of the year:

1. Lay WAY off of Lipsey. He is scared to shoot and will make us play 4-on-5 on offense. Lay 10 feet off him. At least.
2. Show us some full court pressure. We panic like a gazelle that just fell into a croc filled river. Turnovers will abound.
3. Drive us to the basket. We won't stop it, and once we are in foul trouble (which is always), we won't attempt to stop it.
4. Don't ever quit against us. We also blew a 16 point lead on the road at OSU. Tonight trumped that with 23 point lead blown, but now it's a pattern.

Another question...I know we were all yelling at the players, especially Lipsey with the turnovers. But what part does TJ take accountability for?

A little Tech in Perspective

Last night I looked back at Texas Tech's conference losses, and they've been on the cusp of a much better record. They lost:

@ TCU by 6
@ Texas by 2
@ KSU by 10
@ home to Kansas by 3
@ home to Oklahoma by 5
@ home to Baylor by 7

The Cyclones beating them by 34 in Ames was definitely an outlier. It still stinks that we were 23 points away from another road win Monday night, but maybe Tech isn't as woeful as their record indicates.
