So I'm out and about in JAX about an hour ago. Travels take me thru and intersection oft frequented by those claiming to be "homeless", etc., with their cardboard signage. So I'm in the left turn lane, second car back. The guy working the median saunters up to the front of the median and turns to walk back along the line of cars. I have a Iowa State Logo plate on the front of my truck. He's looking at it. As he walks by, he says; "Ain't no Hilton Magic around here." I'm flabergasted! I literally had zero money with me. Not even loose change. He would have received a contribution had I had some. If not for his situation, then for his reference. Couldn't read his sign well enough but he did "look" down on his luck. Probably the most surprising regonition of ISU I've ever experienced.
