Colin Cowturd back at it with BP

Just watched some of his show on youtube. Now he give all the 49er credit to Kyle Shanahan and says only reason BP is doing well is because the receivers are so open. Any QB could hit those passes. If that is the case, why did they fall apart after Brock was hurt, why did Trey Lance fail and the rest of the quarterbacks they tried. And if you watch games, the receivers aren't open, but Brock can read the defense and throws before they break open. Cowturd must not watch the games.

Bidenomics….. shhhhhhh!

The term Bidenomics came into existence to define how terrible the economy had become under Biden. The administration decided to turn the tables and use the term to brag about their “strong” economy. Now Democrats are rapidly running away from the term because they can’t understand why the masses don’t see how great they have made the economy.

Why don’t the masses understand the claim of creating a record number of jobs? Nevermind the vast majority of the jobs that were basically just recovered jobs simply as COVID died down.

They don’t understand why the masses don’t see how they have decreased inflation over the past year. Nevermind Biden’s “build back better” legislation overloaded the cash in the system leading to the highest inflation since Jimmy Carter.

The rates down now, so why aren’t the masses praising Biden? Could it be they still remember the nine percent jump he left them with? Unfortunately for Joe and the Democrats that pushed that boondoggle through, the price jump caused by the near hyper-inflation they fueled never goes away.

He is left to hope that supporting unrestricted abortions gets him re-elected.

Game 7 of the 1968 World Series--Tigers vs. Cardinals

I watched the full game 7 of the 1968 World Series (Tigers at Cardinals) on YouTube over the past few days. Looks like the entire series is on YouTube. Thought some may enjoy the following tidbits:
  • Black & White telecast
  • Vintage ads are included in the broadcast
  • Announcers are Harry Carey (who was Cardinals announcer) and Curt Gowdy. Gowdy did first 4.5 innings, Carey the second 4.5 They would serve as the "color analyst" when the other was the PBP. The color analyst didn't say a lot...often only speaking when called on by the PBP guy.
    • Carey was pretty darn good...nice to see him before his "drunken Falstaff" days.
  • Tony Kubek was a roving reporter, but not much baseball-wise. Interviewed wives, etc.
    • Sidebar, Kubek now lives in Appleton, Wisconsin; helps out with Fox Valley Lutheran HS and its baseball team, claims he has not watched one MLB game since getting fed up with the game and leaving it back in 1994 (per Wikipedia)
  • Bob Gibson vs. Mickey Lolich. Mickey pitched on two days rest (and he pitched well in Game 7)
  • Daytime game
  • Crowd--many men in attendance dressed in ties. Quiet compared to today's standards.
  • Graphics very basic...and score rarely shown.
  • Busch Stadium was grass.
  • Last game for Roger Maris and Eddie Mathews
    • Cardinals went to Japan immediately after game for a series, neither Roger or Eddie went along.
    • The morning of the game, the players/team were spending time working on their passports, making sure all set for Japan, etc. Game 7, and they're working on their plans for Japan that morning.
  • Tigers won the game 4-1. Cardinals had two major baserunning blunders in 6th inning--two runners picked off.
  • Cardinal Curt Flood misjudged and stumbled on fly ball top 7th, two runs scored breaking 0-0 tie...that was basically it as Tigers added another run that inning.
  • Earlier in the series, Cardinals were up 3 games to 1, and led 3-0 in Game 5. All Tigers after that.
  • When something big happened, say for instance a player doubled, no celebration, no fist pump, no raising arms to the sky. Just got to the base and stood there.
In many ways, a better, refreshing game back then.

The difference between collegiate and professional athletes

According to the NCAA sports contract concerning amateurism, an athlete is considered a professional if they are paid in any form or accept the promise of pay for using your athletic abilities in any type of sports contest. If this is the definition of a professional athlete, the NCAA has to allow all current and professional athletes to participate in NCAA Sport events. My question is the players in the NFL and USFL who left early and who got cut, should have college eligibility. Mike Rose, Hakeen Butler etc.
