Three-star Dowling Catholic (IA) junior offensive lineman Kyle Rakers, who continues to be a big-time pursuit for the staff and first-year position coach Ryan Clanton, just messaged me that he will be taking an overnight unofficial visit to Iowa State on April 14-15.

AMES, Iowa – Senior guard Caleb Grill is no longer with the Iowa State men’s basketball team, due to a failure to meet the program’s expectations.

“We hold our players to high standards and there are expectations that our student-athletes are held accountable for,” Iowa State men’s basketball head coach T.J. Otzelberger said.

Grill appeared in 25 games with 22 starts, this season. He averaged 9.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.

So if ISU, TCU, and Okie State all end up at 8-10 who gets the 5, 6, and 7 seeds? We're 2-0 against TCU and 0-2 against Okie State so 2-2. TCU split with Okie State so they'd be 1-3 and Okie State 3-1. I assume Okie State then gets the 5 seed, we're the 6 seed and TCU is the 7th seed? That would mean we need to cheer for Texas to win at TCU tonight. Edit from original post, Okie State is 7-10 now and so if they lose at Texas Tech on Sat they are the 7 seed at 7-11. Go Red Raiders!

Was working near JTS today, and noticed it didn't take long after last night's last home BB game for the work to begin in the JTS/Hilton lots. Most of the NE of the lots are barricaded off, and trees are coming down.

Duh...I know. TJ has made no bones about defense & rebounding being this program's identity and I'm fine with that. The rebounding stats are middling for the most part, but the offense is poor....shocker. Get better ball handlers & shooters and maintain the defense & rebounding & this thing moves way up.
