... and I'm not ... but I believe I said two years ago when Bowman was at Texas Tech that he was a $hit QB and got roundly criticized for it. He proved today he's no better than mediocre and that's his ceiling.

I left the game at 17-0 going into the 4th quarter, thinking GB was dead in the water.

Engineering this comeback should be great for Love's confidence going forward.

We don't have overwhelming talent. No big revelation there. But we do have enough. But it is young and/or inexperienced.

At QB, I am coming around to Rocco. We can win with him at the helm. He needs more help than a Brock Purdy. But everyone not named Seneca has needed that for ISU.

Higgins is going to be fine at WR. We forget X wasn't an immediate success. He struggled to adjust from CC to the Big XII. I think we are seeing the same from Higgins as he adjusts from FCS ball. Not sure of his top end but he will be a weapon, imo.

Jackson may be the sleeper. He was a highly rated HS JUNIOR and missed his Senior year due to a car accident, then got hurt in 2020 (foot injury), and struggled to stay healthy. He shows promise and the others will be fine IF Higgins and Jackson develop into a legit 1 & 2.

Brahmer is Charlie Kolar. Probably better at the age. I am not sold on the other TE's yet, particularly as blockers. There are no Chase Allens or Dylan Soehners. Yet.

I still believe the RB room has talent. Not Breece Hall talent, but talent that can be successful.

Which brings to the forefront the problem. The offensive line is not fixed. It may be worse. Talent lost has not been replaced. Maybe Remsberg will help. It still looks to me we get bullied way too often be defensive lines and get little to no help from Tight Ends. I don't know if the coaching is better, the same, or worse. The results are not visibly better.

Fix this, and there is enough skill talent to be successful. Don't fix it, and all the scheming in the world will just be polishing a turd.

The Cyclones and Cowboys kick off a little after 3 p.m. today inside Jack Trice Stadium. The game will be carried on FS1. I’ll have the live updates from the press box in the thread below.

Flipping through tonight’s games and noticed Boise State was on, so I thought I’d check in to see if Howard Brown is playing. Sounds like he might not be for a while.

We won a game inside the +/-4 pt favorite or underdog range. 10 or so in a row lost.

I know my calls won't happen , but I would bet that Okie State will stack the line with 8 in the box on the first play , thinking we will try to establish the run first , because that is what CMC wants.
Play action passes should work with 8 in the box, If we have receivers that can make them pay.
So maybe my plays don't work, and we have to punt. So what, we have a great punter.

If the worst thing that happens on throwing deep is an INT, then the long pass works like a punt.

I just want us to open things up a little.

Went cold turkey on all things Cyclone's since last Saturday after the turd the Cyclones laid in Ohio. Life was much more enjoyable this week, sun came up all 7 days. Last thing I read or watched was CMS trying to go after a fan. Hopefully this week we will play a lot better.
