Blake Hinson - Lakers

Had the best game of all of the Lakers rookies and 2nd year guys in the 1st summer league game.

Too bad he has no chance of sticking because he’s old and his dad isn’t named LeBron.

How Are You Spending Your Independence Day?

Happy Independence Day! Let freedom ring!

How are you spending your day, or holiday weekend? I'm a glutton for punishment and am using it to get some work done on the home. My primary project for today and the weekend is installing new carpet in a three season porch. I'm going with carpet squares. I used them in another three seasons porch and it went great. Hoping for a similar result in this porch. Hopefully the link works for a look at the finished product in porch #1:

New carpet installed in three seasons porch

I've already got the old carpet pulled out and the room mostly empty. I got the room cleaned up this morning and am now putting chalk lines down to guide the installation. This is where I slow down and make my plan. I've got almost an inch of slop around most of the perimeter of the room where the carpet hides under an electrical channel so the fit doesn't need to be exactly the wall. You can't see it once it's tucked under the channel.

So how soon before Biden announces he is not running?

Watching some liberal bloggers who are absolutely pissed that the Democratic Party has brought them to this point. They know Biden was humiliated tonight. They are begging for Obama to head to the WH and tell Biden to retire. They even referred to the Democratic party a the dying empire( and it is).

A live presidential gambling poll has Biden down to 20 %, with Trump leading by 40+ points in the gambling poll. Newsom is up to 9%.

Iowa State Media Relations

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Former Iowa State Cyclone Tyrese Haliburton has been named to the 2024 USA Men's National Team roster for the Paris Olympics. The 12-member team will compete at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, set for July 26-Aug. 11, 2024. The team was selected by USA Basketball Men’s National Team managing director Grant Hill and approved by the USA Basketball Board of Directors.

This will be the fourth time Haliburton has appeared on a USA Basketball roster, as he was a member of the FIBA World Cup team last summer, U19 World Cup team in 2019 and the U.S. Select Team in 2021. A reigning two-time NBA All-Star, Haliburton made the all-tournament team after winning gold in 2019, while the 2021 USA Select Team trained alongside the 2021 USA Men's National Team prior to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The team is highlighted by 12 athletes with extensive USA Basketball experience including three-time Olympic champion Kevin Durant (Phoenix Suns) and the NBA’s all-time scoring leader LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers), who owns a pair of Olympic gold medals.

In addition to Durant and James, the 2024 USA Men’s National Team features Bam Adebayo (Miami Heat), Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns), Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), Anthony Davis (Los Angeles Lakers), Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves), Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers), Jrue Holiday (Boston Celtics), Kawhi Leonard (L.A. Clippers) and Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics).

The squad boasts a combined 11 Olympic appearances and owns 10 Olympic gold medals as well as three FIBA World Cup titles. In total, the U.S. will take 12 NBA All-Stars, four NBA MVPs and six NBA champions to Paris.

“It’s an honor to introduce the 2024 USA Basketball Men’s National Team,” Hill said. “I’m grateful to these 12 men for their commitment to represent USA Basketball. The United States is home to some of the best basketball players in the world and I appreciate the vast interest in being part of this roster. These decisions weren’t easy, but it was a pleasure to go through the process and reach this outcome.

USA Basketball will commence training camp on July 6 in Las Vegas. Following the game vs. Canada, the Americans will embark on an international training window that begins when the USA hosts Australia and Serbia on July 15 and 17, respectively, at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Australia and Serbia will also face off on July 18 in Abu Dhabi.

As part of Group C, the American men will face Serbia on July 28, South Sudan on July 31 and the winner of the Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) in Puerto Rico on Aug. 3 in the first round of the Olympic tournament. The 5-on-5 Olympic basketball group phase will take place in Lille, France, before the tournament moves to Paris for knockout and medal rounds.

The POTUS race is essentially over, no matter what the Dems do with Biden or replacing him.

Looking at the latest polls, and just looking at the states that I believe are 95% for certain to go to Trump, and completely ignoring the rust belt swing states that everyone still focuses on, I have Trump at 269, with almost no chance for the Dems to crack that. 269 EC votes is a tie, but the GOP wins the tie with 100 % certainty. With Trump now winning AZ, NV, and GA easily, it comes down to Omaha, and that one is now Trump as well. WI, MI, PA, VA don't even matter in this scenario The Dems can do whatever they want, the 269 is in the 95% category from what I see, it will take a miracle for the Dems. And if the votes ends at 269 to 269, Trump wins always.

Movie: Something to Stand For.

Went to the Mike Rowe movie this afternoon for the 4th. Very awesome patriotic movie and not political at all. Some great "the rest of the story" type stories from America's history. Both known and unknown people from history and how some things lace together. Really outstanding and highly recommended. I think it's a limited engagement and really worth seeing on the big screen.

Side note: fathomevents.com was involved with the movie and if you look at their upcoming movies, they are showing some classics from the past on big screens.
