This has been out there for a while but was brought to light again today in a subcommittee hearing. Trump’s directive related to security for January 6th:

Milley: "The President just says, 'Hey, look at this. There's going to be a large amount of protestors here on the 6th, make sure that you have sufficient National Guard or Soldiers to make sure it's a safe event.'

..[POTUS said] I don't care if you use Guard, or Soldiers, active duty Soldiers, do whatever you have to do. Just make sure it's safe.' [SecDefl Miller responds by saying, 'Hey, we've got a plan, and we've got it covered.'"

There’s more to all of this but this reinforces again that Trump directed there be enough security to ensure the protests were “patriotic and peaceful”. He was ignored with a set of big double barreled middle fingers.

The media's hypocrisy about the SEC has been pointed out before but their gushing about the Bama/UGA game (it was entertaining) contradicts their previous narrative of SEC defenses/Big 12's zero defenses. Don't forget Saban lobbied against the tempo offenses claiming players would get injured. Guess what? When you recruit good qbs, skilled offensive players, & have coaches that think beyond dives & play action, points get scored. Annoying.

The Cyclones and Cougars meet up for the first time tonight at 6 pm. The game will be carried on FS1. I’ll have the periodic updates in the thread below.

... But not for the reason you might suspect. As you may or may not know, I can't watch a game live. I have to wait until I know for sure that we won or are winning by a big margin, like the Arkansas State game, where we were ahead 31-0 at halftime. I started watching that game before we even got to halftime, which was great.

This game, however, I couldn't start watching it until late in the fourth quarter. When combined with the late 6 p.m. start, that meant I didn't start watching until about a quarter to 9, which just threw my whole game day routine off as far as TV viewing, monitoring the message board after a big win and just searching the internet for reactions to it. I didn't finish watching it until 11:30 or so, which is the time I generally go to bed and watch programs I've DVR'd until about 3:30, so I never got a chance to monitor the message boards or browse the internet afterward. If we have any more late games, can we get way ahead early next time, please?

On the Coach’s Corner Jamie said complete CyTown plans, developer, etc…will be revealed in late October and everyone will be blown away (his words). The $300 million investment will be completed in two years and feature a 242(?) key hotel, amphitheater, with a total of 8 buildings. I was fortunate enough to be in a small group when Jamie told us about this project sometime in late 2018/early 2019. Will be fun to see the late October reveal

What has happened with Nayeli Gonzalez? Injured ? Suspended? Doghouse? Other? I try to at least follow the games, but haven't seen much of her this year. She was FANTASTIC last year.

I liked Mac better as a personality, but Campbell is a better coach. He does make some head scratching decisions at times, but the difference between Iowa State football before he got here and now is night and day.

Alabama was absolutely mauling the Georgia receivers on virtually every play and no flag. I was astonished. I didn't care who won the game. I just couldn't believe what the officials were permitting.
