We've had this thread 1000 times before, but another one hit this morning, that makes me shake my head.
I work for a large multi state corporation, with maybe 5000 employees. My "division" is across several states and maybe has a couple hundred employees. So when a new person gets hired in our division, they send out an email telling about the job filled, and a little personal background on the employee.
In the end, it will usually have a rundown of their hobbies. Sammy likes fishing, gardening, playing tennis, and going to his kids events. Or it might say Sammy likes watching the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday. Or Sammy likes watching the Packers. But here is the line from the end of the email today.
"He is an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan who enjoys reminding his Cornhusker neighbors of Iowa’s football dominance."
Really?
Makes me squint my eyes and shake my head. Just like the moron on my team during our weekly check in call. We start with a roll call, and when it is your turn, most guys go, "Hey." "Morning" "Yup" And this tool always does "Go Hawks"
I have a co-worker that grew up in Wisconsin, that likes the Badgers, and he can't figure it out either, other than, "They can't help themselves."
