Fordham grad transfer long snapper Tom Callahan is also expected on campus for an unofficial visit. He could potentially be a June addition to the program.

OUT leaving early?

Apparently the Angry 8 gave up some of their revenue to entice the four new members. And the hope is that they’ll get that money back with a negotiated early exit by OUT. The article doesn’t say anything about the exit fee, as opposed to the penalty for leaving the grant of rights early.

Remember when Bowlsby made threats against ESPN that he had evidence of their interference and conspiracy to push the remaining members to the American? The following statement leads me to believe that whatever evidence he had was weak. Otherwise, seems like the conference would have used it as leverage.

“League sources said the conference did not ask its partners [ESPN and Fox] for increased rights fees.”

FOOTBALL RECRUITING Funny little recruiting tidbit I thought I'd share

Every now and then my Southeast Polk HS sophomore son feeds me some good recruiting information. This morning, it was that an Iowa assistant coach showed up to visit with head coach Brad Zelenovich and see 2024 QB Connor Moberly. Here's where it took a twist: Moberly happened to come to school today decked out in all Iowa State gear. ?

Schedule statistics

of the 56 conference games played so far among Big 12 foes, there have been only 7 double digit losses. Iowa State is responsible for three of them, including last night against Texas. The other two are the first vs. Baylor, and the Texas Tech drubbing. Oklahoma State, our next opponent, has been the victim twice, once to Texas by 10 and once to Baylor by 16. the other two double digit losses were Kansas State by 14 to TCU and West Virginia by 14 to Kansas.

Remember Holding Our Breath @ Semester Break?

Remember when we had to hold our breath at the semester break to see who wasn’t academically eligible for spring semester? Maybe it wasn’t as bad as I remember. Nowadays with early college credits in HS, early graduations, a slew of academic advisors helping and making certain you’re going to class, it doesn’t seem to be a thing anymore.
