Real news update...epstein list

If you haven't heard, a judge ordered 150 names be released. I will commit to never supporting anyone on it. Will you? :) I bet not.

Jack Smith Special Council, or is he?

Jack Smith is Trumps prosecutor, a so called Special Council appointed by Merrick Garland. Ed Meese and some other Law professors filed an Amicus brief that is very lengthy, basically saying that Jack Smiths appointment as Special Council is completely illegal. Merrick Garland appointed him, but the Special Council requires the POTUS to appoint and Congress to approve. In addition, you have to be one of the US Attorneys to be appointed. If the brief is correct, Jack Smith and everything he has done so far is completely illegal and unusable.

This could get interesting.

Bowl ratings

Not that I wanted anybody to watch our train wreck of a bowl performance, but I think we had a crazy good TV rating. For an afternoon game on a weekday (albeit Friday) that is a huge number. I didn't realize we were also partially going head to head against Notre Dame too, who we crushed. And part of that is network. Who thinks to go to CBS to watch a bowl game? Maybe we didn't travel to the game like we could/should have, but we stayed home and watched it on TV. Even better when you consider our opponent. It's not like Memphis is some major "brand".

PS, I held on my boycott of not watching the playoff games. Obviously not many others boycotted.

Capt. Obvious Says -- The Road Ahead MBB

Captain Obivous says the road ahead gets a lot steeper.

Cumulative record for conf opponents is 111-27 (80.4%). Most everyone did a good job with the bunny scheduling.

The only three future opponents with single digits in the win column (to date) are UCF (9-3), OSU (7-5) and WVU ( 5-8).

Five teams currently ranked in AP Top 25. KU #2, Houston #3, OU #12, BYU #17 and thonghorns #21. The Cyclones are receiving votes and come in #30.

Something's gotta give. It's going to be a grinder.

I'm too lazy to look up up all the team stats but I believe BYU and Bailer are top ten in scoring. Houston is #1 in scoring defense (around 49 pts/game). The Cyclones are #5 at 59.1 pts/game.

So long, Memphis

Made it home last night from the bowl game. This will be the last time I attend a bowl game in Memphis. When your car gets stolen the night before the game, it tends to leave a sour taste in your mouth.

Thankful I have some wonderful friends who were able to give my wife and I a ride home so we could get back to our 7 month old.

I’ve now gone to six bowl games, Insight in 2000, Independence in 2001, Houston in 2005, Liberty in 2012, Alamo in 2018 and Liberty in 2023. I’ve seen as many ISU bowl wins as I’ve had cars stolen.

Truly hope each and every Cyclone fan who attended had a much better time! Kinda wish it had happened to that old squawk in the facepaint but then karma never seems to work out ISU’s way.

Big 12 will be insane according to ESPN Bracketology today.

of the 14 teams in the league, 7 are currently in the bracket, and 5 more listed in the first 8 out. Here is a list of the Big 12 teams and also future Big 12 teams:

1 KU
1 Houston
3 BYU
5 BU
5 OU
9 ISU
11 UT

First four out
KSU
TCU
TT

Next four out
Cincinnati

Also future Big 12 teams:
2 Arizona
7 CU
7 Utah

This conference will be brutal.

Just curious …

about how many of us believe that CMC is the right one for the job at this time in college football. By job I mean: Is he the one to get us to 10+ regular season wins? Is he the one to get us into the CFP? IMO: NO. I’d like to thank him for keeping us relevant, but it’s time to move on. I don’t believe he has IT. He’s not HIM. Idk who is, but he’s not it. Again, just my opinion and I sure as hell hope he proves me wrong, but I don’t believe I’m very far off.
