Could use a little help on "prescription cards".

Topic for a long discussion at another time, but understanding and preparing for the future health care expenditures has always been an issue for me.

Here's the short version. I have only Medicare A & B (no supplemental). Have used it only once (minor issue - office visit). May need a/some prescriptions filled coming out of a visit this Friday. Last scrip I needed filled was many years ago (our dog bit me )

Have seen ads and such for scrips being cheaper thru things like "Good Rx". Anyone have experience with such? How do they work and which is best in your view?

I thank you for anything you can share.

But, of course

Sunday, we were going through security at Houston Hobby and a particularly annoying TSA agent had me on edge. As I was trying to get my carry on put back together after being searched by said agent, a late teen/early 20 something kid with an iowa shirt came over and yelled “go hawks”. I had on an isu t shirt and whirled around and said, “F$&k off, punk”. His dopey grin went away and his buddies laughed at him. Seriously, what would make this pinhead think doing that to some old, white haired dude putting his carry on back together was a good idea? JFC

Lost My Older Brother Last Night

I am so fortunate that I made it out to San Diego to see my brother for the last time yesterday. He passed overnight. He was very active until recently when diagnosed with cancer. He went downhill fast, especially since he called me last Thursday and sounded good. Saturday night he went to ER and was put under hospice care on Sunday.

He had lived a full life, going back to college after retiring to get a degree in archeology and went on a trip to Mongolia. He got his undergrad from Iowa State and worked in the newspaper business most of his life, first at the World Herald and later at various papers in the San Diego area. He was the guy that sold the newspaper ads from car companies. I have a little story about one of my trips there. Click it if you want to read it.

One time I came out to visit him and thought he was a slacker. His boss at the LA Times (San Diego office) required them to be in the office early at the beginning of the day and also to end the day, but were forbidden from being there during the rest of the day. He thought they needed to be out selling ads. It was a pretty long commute from Cardiff in North San Diego county to the downtown office, but he would make that trip and then would be back home for a long nap and to spend some time with us. He told us that his boss expected them to be out calling on clients, but he said he felt he would become a bother constantly calling on them. You can imagine what I thought of this lifestyle. That was until one weekend when he took me to some places downtown and said he first need to stop in to get something. He invited me up to his office in the high rise. On the wall of his office was a football field with a bunch of players with names on them and I asked him what it was. It represented the sales of the people in the office. I noticed he was about 30 yards ahead of the others and asked him about it, thinking that's pretty good. He said not only that, he had been down the field once and had already "lapped" them. I no longer thought of him as a slacker and instead understood exactly what he was talking about. He never really liked that boss and he eventually became the boss.

Just another lie told on this board debunked today

Admits that he completely made up the story and lied.

And yet the lemmings on here still repeat this nonsense like it was accurate.

FOOTBALL RECRUITING ***Big Man Camp & Saturday Night Lights Thread***

It's going to be a long day of Iowa State camps tomorrow and I'm planning to cover both for the site. Here are some of the names of interest that I've confirmed will be in town and are there are some good ones! I'll be posting some additions to this list, as well as some news and notes from the day. The Big Man Camp runs from about 9-11 a.m. and the Saturday Night Lights Camp gets underway about 5:00 and will wrap up around 8:00.

Here are some prospects I'll be following.

The Caitlyn Clark situation is out of control...

Like CC, or hate her, but the WNBA is out of control. She may talk trash, okay fine. But the abuse she is taking is clearly not called for. She is getting thrown around like a rag doll and there has been zero consequences thus far! She is going to get hurt in short order and nobody in the front office seems to care. The WNBA has turned into basketball, hockey and football all thrown together.
