With the most successful season in our history in the books, we can talk about next year without the "wait until next year" approach.

QB - Becht is established as a leader and a gamer. We should all feel good he is at the helm. For us old guys, a few less wtf moments would be appreciated. Moberly and Manske appear to be the backups. Moberly has been in the system and Manske will arrive 2nd semester, i believe. Both are similar types. I think (don't know) Moberly is a slightly better natural runner, and Manske is a slightly better natural passer. Moberly would be a clear # "2" projected. Manske's injury will maybe call for a portal backup.

RB - it will still be by committee. None of the returners (Hansen, Sama, Flora, Lee) seems to be dominant and Peppers seems to be in that mold as well.

TE - I am excited to see Brahmer working with Burkle, the latter's improvement being truly remarkable. If a couple others could get and stay healthy, and the Freshman Alexander steps up some, this could be a strong group. Maybe needs to block better.

WR - Hopeful that the young guys that played in the bowl have the talent can step up an/or the portal addition(s) have Hutchison/Higgins year one type impact. Still not convinced we have a game breaker.

OL - We need to replace the Travis. I am not sure how much of a loss Hufford is. As has been the case for years, improvement on the Offensive line will be the key to continued Offensive improvement.

Summary - Led by a quality QB and TE play, Spring and fall will be key to rebuilding the WR room and continued improvement of the Offensive Line.

Outlook- hopefully optimistic.

it is much harder to CREATE A BRAND. At the end of the game and the celebration, i wondered if those guys in the black/white were OUR team, but only momentarily. All the great pro teams have identity, powerful brands. THIS HAS BEEN A MONUMENTAL SEASON FOR THE CYCLONES, an ISU with 11 victories. Didn't think this would ever happen. (but of course, there are now more games, too). I enjoy the fun of changing uniforms during the season, but what exactly does an official IOWA STATE football jersey truly look like? GO CARDINAL< GO GOLD: GO CYCLONES!!!

He just replied via text that he's in the Hospital and they are doing a bunch of tests.
He's probably going to be there until at least Tuesday.
He's going to be pizzed at me for posting this on here because he is a private type of guy, but I told him he has lots of friends on here that will say a prayer for him and keep him in their thoughts.
I don't know which Hospital he's in, but I wanted everyone to know why he's been absent from CR for a couple days.
Imo, he's a staple of Cyclone Report and a reason that I keep coming back.
