Football Recruiting mom comment.

My home high school (Central Lyon) is kicking out some D1 athletes these days. Central Lyon won state titles in football and boys hoops this year.

Their stud QB Zac Luetmer at least visited Iowa State (safety recruit in college) - but committed on the phone on the spot when Iowa offered.

Now even worse this. Central Lyon has a 6’6” wide receiver named Reece Vander Zee. Talented kid. Here what his mom posted on social media last night:

“When all the hard work results in legendary coach Kirk Fehrentz(sp) offering your son a full ride to play football, there are tears of joy.”

He also committed on the spot.

Legendary? WTF? Even with all the BS from the program and lack of championships, that’s how easy it is to recruit instate (at least in certain cases) for the Dark Side.

I feel shame for NW Ia. SMH.

Why Lexi is transfering.

When Lexi was recruited she was recruited as a point guard. She came into a class with a point guard who was destined to be one of the best in the country. Now Lexi is ready to go into her senior year and if she wants to play in the WNBA it will be as a point guard. She needs to go somewhere that needs a point guard for her to reach her goals. I think it's that simple. I can live with this.

Not the greatest press

Anyone see this article that is on the front page of the USA Today?

Not a good look for the school. And with Lexi leaving too, it just adds to it.
