Isn’t that the main story of yesterday’s game? Isn’t it that way most of the time in all games? Honestly when we couldn’t dominate uni or even mostly control the line of scrimmage I thought we were in trouble. I get that we were a long way from being a good team yesterday, but a lot of the problems we showed would have been lessened by effectively running the ball. If we can be 3-2 after September I will be doing cart wheels!

I was the second caller on the call in show. I listened to the first caller, Helmet Guy, and listened to Mr. Whitver blame the loss on Rocco. I said that was BS, the loss should be blamed on the 9 dropped passes, especially the first one in the end zone. They never addressed that with their respeonse. They responded to my comment on the lack of urgency on the last TD drive. They agreed with Coach Campbell that they didn'tn want to rush a RS Freshman QB and decided to take their time with the play calling. I'm sorry that's also BS, that's something that should be learned in practice. It always comes down to us needing to score a tying or go ahead TD with less then two minutes left in a game. At that point it has to be hurry up and we end up stepping on our you know what! We always trail going into 4trh quarter and Iowa just runs the clock down. We have to be better, I know that goes without saying, but it just gets old listening to the ost game show and hearing the same story lioss after loss to those people!!

WeWill is going to have to dish money out to keep Cooper. That kid is an absolute stud who is a thief on the field.

Anyone watch? I watched some of the second half.

Ohio plays hard and seem well-coached but man I just don't see talent that we shouldn't be able to handle on either side of the ball. BUT we'd better go in there with a mindset to dominate them and execute same. They will be sky-high to knock off a Big XII team at home. They ain't dog meat. But again, we should have much more talent and depth.

Their QB has been touted as the best in the MAC as is one on their LB's IIRC. They held FAU to net 5 yds rushing which included -22 by their QB. FAU is coached by Tom Herman.

Ohio had about 350 yds in total O. Outscored FAU 10-0 in 2nd half to win 17-10.

Hope we have improvement on our minds and not a let down.

One LB gets blown out of a hole and another fails to fill it. Perhaps a safety.
RB goes another 50 yards.
We throw a pick 6 throwing to a RB that can't run pass routes.
And the QB locks in on him .
And the OC calls the play.
I don't blame Norton. They asked him to do something he can't. At least now..
You could see it would be a pick 6 at snap.

Of course, getting the field goal blocked was a problem.
We start the game with a plan that works.
Get our 7 and we win the game.
Knew from there they'd have what we were doing fixed.

And their QB did miss a receiver running free..
But they didn't squander opportunities like us.

The Campbell offense is a horrible base to play Iowa with.
For some reason, the DMac one worked well.
We need to be damn near perfect to beat them.

When we release downfield more and use Brahmer. Higgins more. Even Daniel Jackson looked good when he got a look.
They give us a better chance.
Brahmer needs ten plus targets a game.
I'm fine lining him out wide.

Noel is overused. Not really dependable.

We deserved a worse fate not fielding kickoffs standing on the five.

Our punter was better than theirs'. That was new.

We could have run deep stuff on both sides of the field more like the Higgins TD. We just missed it the first series. Then it was late before we got back to that.

Flooding Iowa with receivers deep is the surest way to score on them.

We do have receivers that could play for the Chiefs. /s
Maybe double figure drops.

It has been a long time since I used the gates on the west side of the stadium, but in the past, those gates were not very busy. Do those gates still exist after the changes over the last few years. If they do still exist, does anyone know if they are still less busy than other gates?
