I just learned that Emory Jones was a 4-star recruit and originally committed to Ohio State before decommitting and signing with Florida instead. He was ranked the 10th best prospect in Georgia, which usually produces dozens of D-1 players every year. He was also rated the sixth best dual threat QB and the 89th best prospect overall in that recruiting class. He sure played like crap for all those accolades. I mean, when your team is behind all game, which usually means you have to pass more, but can only throw for less than 100 yards with two INTs, the conclusion has to be you suck.

They love to run the qb and do a good job of it. They will continue to run this freshman qb until he is hurt and a shell of himself. It's really a cheap way to earn your living Klieman. The kid is 185 lbs.

It is difficult to describe the difference in feeling after the two trips to Ohio our football team has taken. After the first, I feel like "despair" would be the best word to describe the mood, at least on this board. Now, after the second, optimism seems to be the most prevalent opinion.



Personally, I think I was really overlooking how incredibly young we were. I also forgot my coaching 101 - young teams, if coached, can improve more than veteran teams - often spectacularly. It is easy to do when invested as a fan. Guilty.

The future is bright if we can keep teams from buying our players. We have only 2 senior starters on offense (Dean and Hufford), 2 on Defense (Vaughn and Tampa) and the Place Kicker. We have others like Nikkel, Porter, Simmons, Remsberg, etc who are depth and/or Special Teams players.

We have at least 8 true or RS Freshmen starting or sharing snaps. At key positions. 2 TE, QB, OL, 2 RB, LB, LS, plus Sophomores on the DL, LB, S, OL, 2 RB, and P/H.

We are really only veteran laden at CB, but have young players getting quality snaps.

Ok, I'm calling it. He's the best big12 FB color commentator. He is Fran level. Well, not quite, but for FB, He really knows the big12, presently and history.

I know this is a long shot, but I am looking for land to build a shome/shouse/bardominium on within 30ish minutes from Ames, and either on or very near hard surface roads. Any help would be appreciated if someone knows of something or runs across something in the future. Probably need 2 acres minimum and up to 10 or so.
