Transfer’s Twitter accounts

It always seems that when players leave a team, they change their social media profile pics to something other than their prior team photos.

Yet that’s not the case with LD, DF or MK.

LD even has a pic with the team spraying BF in celebration.

Seems like there is potentially something more than coach/player relationships, which has been the popular reason on this board.

Could be NIL $ opportunities.
Could be style of play opportunities.
Could be grad school.
Could be other things also.

And could be coach relationship although they obviously liked BF during the recruiting process and will like other coaches during their new recruiting process with no guarantee that what they see is what they get once the new season starts. They could easily not get along with the new coach after signing on to play and hitting the court.

If I was a confident freshman coming in, I would view it as immediate playing time opportunity. They want to start day one if they can.

FOOTBALL RECRUITING ***Previewing Iowa State's March 31st/April 1st Unofficial Visit Weekend***

Pretty good group of five overnight visitors this weekend, which includes in-state tight end commit Keaton Roskop who will no doubt be doing his best to persuade the other four to become Cyclones. I've also confirmed several other single-day visitors for Saturday's practice.

Morgan Kane (WBB) enters transfer portal

I am willing to be wrong - but I swear I heard MANY times from people on the board here (some of the WBB fans here are pretty in the know) that Morgan was definitely done playing basketball, and would graduate and move on with her life.

Am I wrong about that? Does it surprise people here that she is electing to take another year and finish up playing elsewhere?

Oregon and Washington in the Big 12?

Just a rumor (and there are plenty), but it sounds like ESPN wants OU and UW in the BIg 12, and might be willing to make a "signing" bonus. And it is very possible that BY will waive the GOR (for a few years). Could it be the Big10 is more interested in Stanford and Cal for the academics and the research, some thing that OU and UW don't bring anywhere near as much.

Also find it interesting that the PAC turning down BYU a few years back is likely to be the nail in the coffin for their conference. If they had taken BYU, they would be able to sign a contract for roughly 4M more per school, which including the estimate for their next contract, would put them up near the Big 12, but they could not get past the religious part. Supposedly, ESPN values BYU quite a bit, and it would have resulted in a far larger package for negotiations now if the PAC 12 had them.

And it seems that BY wants potentially 4 non-football schools, he wants Gonzaga and potentially 3 schools around NY City? He clearly is focused on NYC and wants to to own it in basketball. Could it be he is going to use the 100M to pay for these 4 basketball schools until 2031 when he plans on putting up the Basketball TV contract on its own? Got to say I love the way this guy is marketing the conference, in non traditional ways.

FOOTBALL RECRUITING ***Unofficial visitors for day #3 of spring ball - 3/28***

After three days off the practice field, the Cyclones were back at it on Tuesday afternoon. Here's the group that I had confirmed in town yesterday. Although none of these recruits have offers yet, there were still nice contingents from Council Bluffs (IA) Lewis Central and Des Moines (IA) North, which has a couple FBS/FCS prospects on its roster following David Caulker, who of course will join the Cyclones over the summer from the 2023 class. The 2025 ATH Jayden McGregory has some nice upside at 6-foot-2, as I think he could play somewhere in the secondary at the P5 level. He was also very good on the basketball court this past season as a sophomore.
