Double-Header Softball Today On ESPN+

SEMO is a welcome break from the rugged Big 12 schedule. The first game was a 12-0 5 inning run rule game with Iowa State winning. The second game begins at approximately 2:13pm.

Friday and Saturday there will be two double-headers against Colorado State. I don't know that I've ever seen that, but we are probably trying to get in games that were lost in the non-conference season.

I really like the way the team has been playing lately. Night and day change from what I was seeing earlier in the season.

"Florida Man"

Netflix. Foul language, violence, nudity, some pretty funny moments. Main character is a former police detective who had a gambling addiction, lost his job and his wife, is working as an enforcer for a mob guy to pay off his debts. Missing gold, attempts on various lives, when something could go wrong, it does.

I'm through four episodes and enjoying it.

RELEASE: Kajuru Named Big 12 Tennis Player of the Week

Iowa State Media Relations

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State sophomore Ange Oby Kajuru has been named Big 12 Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season and the fourth time in her career.

Kajuru, a Tokyo, Japan, native, went 4-0 last weekend in Iowa State’s wins against TCU and Texas Tech.

She defeated a pair of ranked foes in singles action, taking down No. 115 Mercedes Aristegui of TCU and No. 122 Avelina Sayfetdinova of Texas Tech to improve to 15-3 in dual play.

She teamed up with Xinyi Nong and went 2-0 in doubles play as the Cyclones moved to 15-0 this season when capturing the doubles point. The ISU pair is now 10-2 at No. 2 doubles and has won four-straight matches heading into today’s regular season finale against West Virginia.

Hoka Running/Walking shoes

Was looking at the Clifton 8 and Arahi 6 on clearance at Scheels for $112, but see the Hoka website has them even cheaper at $70. We walk a lot and looking for shoes with support but that also have a lot of cushion for my lower back. Anyone with any Hoka experience? Just got a pair of ONs I really like but looking for a 2nd pair to alternate with since my Asics and and Brooks are getting to the replacement time.

Nikki Haley

Coming to Sioux City for a Town Hall meeting April 10. I liked her when she was our UN Rep. She may have caved on a thing or two.but she is a politician and has to play the game. Since I will not vote For Biden, Harris or Trump I'll probably go listen hoping I will be encouraged. On the PC side she is a female minority which the repubs should latch onto.

Trevor Downing ?

The KC Star’s Chiefs Mock Draft 3.O have KC taking Trevor Downing with the compensatory pick in the 6th round. The quote:

“The Chiefs covet versatile offensive linemen, and the team would have it with the 6-foot-4, 310-pound Downing, who can play all three interior positions.”

Might be a place where he could play and be closest to the SW Iowa farm. A few NFL paychecks wouldn’t hurt in building his own farming empire. Only he’d actually farm it himself, unlike the other NFL players buying up Iowa farmland.
