Ranked Choice Voting

Is anyone familiar with the Better Ballot Iowa organization and Ranked Choice Voting? I had heard of the later before, but never heard of the Better Ballot Iowa organization which is pushing for Ranked Choice Voting (RCV). RCV is an intriguing idea although I haven't thought through the implications. The political system we have today seems to favor extreme candidates over moderate ones in each party. It used to be that a candidate needed to try to own the moderates to win, but it seems not to work that way as much these days. Would RCV reverse this trend.

And any further insight into Better Ballot Iowa would make for an interesting discussion.

Back to the Future - OL - Guzzle or not?

OK I've got a 55-gal drum of Cardinal & Gold Kool Aid I am just waiting to tap. BUT, I don't know if I should tap it or not.

One of the big reasons I have for guzzling some is what I am hearing of Ryan Clanton. Reading the responses given by recruits (signed & yet to be signed🤞) he is almost acheiving water-walker status in my book.

I've never been a D1 OL coach, I've only been a fan and witnessed much good and bad OL play. For those who have followed this more closely and who have more actual knowldge of good (great) OL play, please help me out. Should I tap it or not?

Thx!

Question about farmland around the Corridor.

I drive I-380 most days in the corridor, and there are many square miles of land right now being bulldozed. I would guess there is 5 square miles being developed. Is there any restrictions on farmland being converted to other uses in the corridor? Does the land need to be annexed first before it gets built on? My wife hates to see farmland go under, but I tell here people can no longer afford to keep it as farmland, likely has far more value for other purposes. At least most of these developments are scraping off the black dirt and saving it before the drop clay on the land or build anything. For years now there has been thousands of dump trucks dropping clay on this land and building it up. Heck, the North Liberty UIHC hospital is moving dozens if not hundreds of trucks per day to the area around the Forevergreen interchange.

Cyclone Sundays/Cap City League

The Cap City League tips off Sunday. No ISU guys playing this year but we have partnered with Brent Blum and the We Will Collective to have multiple players come every week for "Cyclone Sundays".

This is a chance for Cyclone fans to meet the returning and incoming players, get autographs and pictures, and show the guys the level of support they will receive during the season. We might even test their skills in a 3 point contest or a game of knock out with the kids in attendance.

Sunday June 25 features: Tamin Lipsey, Big Rob Energy (aka Big Bob) and freshmen Kayden Fish and Jelani Hamilton.

Bonus: stay and watch some very competitive games featuring talented small college, JUCO, high school and unsigned players from across Central Iowa.

As always, attendance is free.
