Let this sink in...

10 months ago, the program we beat this weekend was playing for the national title. Saturday's game left no doubt; it was domination.

Yesterday, was there any program in the country whose alumni were collectively more dynamic than ISU's.

With respect, CMC haters need to sit down and enjoy the new reality. ISU football matters, and the guys in charge know how to find, deliver, retain, and develop high-character winners.

Biden's missing Iran envoy.....

Think this story deserves some airtime. Biden's Iran envoy and some other State Dept folk under investigation for "mishandling" classified info ABOUT IRAN.

Blocked Punt

Very thankful for Jordan Langs hire and how they actually studied film and prepared for this and waited for key time to deploy. Past teams to my knowledge would have never saw this without a designated (so it seems) ST guy. Also, did anyone else (SIAP) notice that the spot on Nikkels return was off 5 yds? Announcers said it was Brahmer but they share same #. Rewatched, he didn't step out. Having ball at 6 vs 11 yd line may have made difference in FG vs TD. Challenges seem to be rare anymore. Do they even have them? Does ISU have someone watching replays to check these usually bad officials and alert Matt on sidelines? Or did I miss something in this ball spot?

FOOTBALL RECRUITING ***Summer Camp Season: Day 5***

Iowa State wraps up the summer camp season this evening with the fourth and final mid-week session. I've been swamped all day with Cyclone news, so here's a quick list of some kids expected in Ames tonight. I'll fill in with some more as I get them. Two clear headliners I'll be spending a lot of time watching are 2024 Cyclone quarterback commit/Southeast Polk HS rising senior Connor Moberly and offered 2025 Clear Lake (IA) defensive end/tight end Thomas Meyer.

What the Hell!

Let's win out!
Go crazy everybody!!!

We are a ball picking machine.
I bitched about never getting turnovers.
WE do now.

The offense is now applying what look like offensive football concepts.
Nate gets better every game.

I wouldn't trade Rocco for many guys not named Caleb.
He was a "hair off" on some throws but still great last night.

I do like beating some horny frog.

Our coach is much brighter than the guy coaching Miami. Florida type.
Nice job snatching defeat by not running Victory formation.
Oregon was lucky he moved on.

I like Mini Matt in the stands.
Down to the play cards.
Got a lot of TV time.

We did Jack Proud.

Keep the logo on the field.

FOOTBALL ***RELEASE: Freyler Named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week***

Iowa State Media Relations

AMES, Iowa - Beau Freyler has been named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

It is the first Big 12 weekly honor of Freyler's career and he is the second Cyclone to be named the league's defensive player of the week this season, along with Jeremiah Cooper.

Freyler led the way for the Cyclone defense with two interceptions to go along with a team-leading and season-high 11 tackles in a 27-14 ISU victory over TCU. Both of his takeaways occurred in the red zone to stop threatening Horned Frog drives.

The Colorado Springs, Colo. native is the only player in the Big 12 to rank in the top 10 of the league in interceptions (3) and tackles (46) this season. His three interceptions on the year are tied for the seventh-most nationally.

Freyler now has five career games with 10-plus tackles.

Iowa State is back in action Saturday, Oct. 14 at Cincinnati. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. (CT) on FS1.

2023 ISU Big 12 Weekly Honors
Sept. 4 - Jeremiah Cooper (DPOW)
Sept. 25 - Chase Contreraz (STPOW)
Oct. 9 - Beau Freyler (DPOW)

Which running back do you like best?

What current ISU NFL running back do you have the most affinity for?

  • Breece Hall

    Votes: 34 64.2%
  • David Montgomery

    Votes: 19 35.8%

I know the Brock Purdy story has captured our attention. But what about our most 2 recent running backs? I ask not which one is best. Which running back do you have the most affinity for?

Like if somebody were to give you a David Montgomery or Breece Hall ISU jersey, which one would you take? Setting the team they current play for aside, which one would you rather get a Super Bowl ring?

Tough choice for me, wanted to see y'alls thoughts
