MADISON, Wis. – For the second time in four years, the Iowa State men are NCAA Cross Country Runners-Up. The Cyclones had four runners earn All-America status, the most since 1994.

Iowa State, ranked fourth nationally entering the 10K Championship race, got out to a solid start as Robin Kwemoi Bera and Joash Ruto both ran with the top five runners through the first 3K. ISU was third as a team at the checkpoint, as Said Mechaal, Sanele Masondo and Gable Sieperda ran between 24th and 86th to keep the Cyclones within striking distance.

Between the 4K and 5K checkpoints, Ruto was tripped up and fell 70 spots from 13th to 83rd place. Kwemoi Bera and Mechaal remained in the top 20, but ISU needed runners to step up with key finishes behind its leaders to ensure a podium finish.

Ruto rallied, surging from 83rd at 5K, to 51st at 6K and 36th at the 8K check. Masondo also steadily climbed from 40th at the halfway mark to 26th at 8K. With 1K to go, the Cyclones had four runners in the top 30 and Sieperda, ISU’s fifth scorer, was gaining as well, picking off over 20 runners between 7K to 9K to move into the top 60.

But the nation’s top-ranked team and Big 12 foe, BYU, held its team lead to the end and kept Iowa State from its first team title since 1994. The Cougars claimed two top 15 finishes and bested ISU by 13 points, 124-137.

All seven Iowa State runners finished in the top 100 while Mechaal, Masondo, Ruto and Kwemoi Bera earned All-America honors. It is the first All-America awards for Mechaal, Ruto and Kwemoi Bera and the second for Masondo after his 16th-place finish in Charlottesville a year ago.

what the heck condition does he have that causes him to, somewhat constantly, shake his head between plays? I’ve gotten a bit concerned if there has been an issue with concussions in his career because of that.

*Went over 1,000 yards on the season, just the seventh time that has happened in program history.
*His third 150-yard receiving game of his career moves him into a tie for second in program history in 150-yard receiving games.

MADISON, Wis. – Iowa State junior Maelle Porcher finished the women’s cross country season at the NCAA Championships on Saturday morning.

Porcher finished 104th at the national championship meet with a time of 20:32.9. Porcher ran with the lead pack through the first 3K of the 6K race, holding her position between 65th and 80th in the field of over 250 runners.

Porcher qualified for her third consecutive national championship meet and second as a Cyclone after finishing third at the NCAA Midwest Regional last Friday in Peoria, Illinois. Her participation at the NCAA Championships marks Iowa State’s 16th straight season with a representative at the national championship meet.

Iowa State begins its indoor track and field season on December 7 with the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston.

It’s no secret that Iowa State will need a portal RB this offseason, as was the case last year with the Jaylon Jackson addition.

Is their FB coach Tim TeBrink a former ISU player? From Pella maybe?

Watched the replay tonight. Players were constantly slipping and tearing up small patches of turf. Not the greasy large patches like a few years back (Drake game), but there was a lot of slipping during sharp cuts.

Maybe this is what grass is supposed to do with the size and speed of these guys and why it's better on the joints.

My main point is that watching in person, I didn't see all the slides and slips, but on tv, it's different.

Iowa State needs to win out — there isn’t a scenario where it can lose one of the last two and still sneak in. And even if the Cyclones do win out, they will still need one loss each by BYU, Colorado and Arizona State, or for BYU and Colorado to both lose out.

ISU recruit Ka’mori Moore has a BIG matchup this week in the Missouri Class 6 quarterfinals. His Lee’s Summit North team goes up against Nixa High and its 5-star LT Jackson Cantwell. The two schools have been in the top 3 mst of the season. #1 Christian Brothers from the St.Louis area was upset in its district final so it is out.

Michael Boorman. Went to the semi final game vs my SBL Warriors. This kid is a beast. Article mentions he's 245. He says he' slow but didn't look like it to me. Great game but SBL lost in a good ole ISU manner. First series intercepted a pass and ran back to the 6 but had to settle for a fg. Next series get a fumble at midfield and get nothing out of it. Down 17-3 came back to 17-10 and scored the tieing TD with under 5 to go. PAT was blocked. DW punted at midfield on 4th and inches with under 2 minutes left. I would have fed the beast. SBL takes over at the 5. 2 plays and a penatly puts them inside the 2. Get 1st down and moves to the DW 40 yard line with 25 seconds left and no TO. Pass intercepted at the 5. Didn't need that, just 10 yards, spike it and try a FG. SBL's Za Ellington had an 86 yard TD run called back due to illegal shift. SBL also missed a 38 yard FG. Heartbreaker.

Just today the most successful real estate agent in Palm Beach, was talking about the valuation of lands on that small island, with only 2500 properties. Since the election, the markets are off the chart. She values Trumps land by itself at 1.5 B, with a guest house that is easily 75 M, and the main house at 500M.

I am getting so sick of the love for the SEC and Big and all of the complete disrespect of the Big 12. Why don't we have any analysts out there putting out blind resumes and being critical of the bias? I mean I know the answer is pretty much ESPN but is it all about conference affiliation or the name of your school? Would Texass be getting disrespected like BYU or Colorado if still in Big 12 with 1 conference loss? I have no doubt that Texass would have a loss in the Big 12 too. They have zero wins against current top 25 teams. They beat Michigan and OU early in the season when they were ranked. Those teams are average at best now. They beat Vandy by 3, who's also no longer in the top 25. They lost to UGA by 15. I mean no teams have super impressive resumes that indicate they're much better than any of the others. Look below and decide for yourself. I'll list out the top 14 teams below in order.

Oregon beat #2 Ohio State by 1. The game was at Oregon. They have a win over #12 Boise State and a 3rd win over #25 Illinois. That's probably most impressive resume.

Ohio State has very close loss to #1, 7 point win at #4 Penn State

Texass already mentioned they have zero wins against current top 25 teams.

PSU has one win over #25 Illinois by 14 points

Indiana has zero wins against top 25 teams

Notre Dame has 1 win over #15 A$M

Bama has a win over #10 UGA, blowout win over #23 Mizzou (and blowout win over LSU who's no longer in top 25)

Miami has zero wins against top 25 teams and a loss to 6-4 Georgia Tech last week.

Ole Miss has win over #10 UGA and loss to 4-6 Kentucky

UGA has win over #17 Clemson, #3 Texass, and #11 Tennessee. I'm sure they're wondering why Texass sits at #3 and they're #10. That loss to Ole Miss sucks for them but they do have more impressive wins than anyone. No one else can claim 3 wins over current top 25 teams other than #1 Oregon right now.

Tennessee has win over #7 Bama

Boise State has 5 point win over #24 UNLV and of course their 3 point loss to #1 Oregon that seems to be keeping them up higher than they should be

SMU beat Louisville and Pitt when they were still ranked but neither are now. They don't own wins over any current top 25 teams

BYU beat #13 SMU on the road by 3. They killed KState when they were ranked but no longer are.
