Junior day visit on 2025 Illinois LB's agenda following Wednesday offer

7 weeks ago, my wife wrecked our car but, fortunately, she was unharmed. It's safety features performed perfectly. We have been looking for a new(er) car since. We want local.

We found one, and picked it up today. We went black. I decided I didn't like the look of Cyclone plates on the black car so we went generic black and white, but kept our Cycone message [CY4VER67].

Then I noticed the Dealers logo was Gold. I asked them to take it off and put one of their Red Ones on. Was I being too petty or perfectly reasonable?

It’s 32 - 28 good gals at half.

Another tuff lose for the squakes last night. There fans were probably expecting mad fran would pull it off. Broke my heart.

I spoke with 2025 QB Alex Manske and 2025 DE Jack Limbaugh yesterday afternoon for junior day recaps. They told me several members of the Iowa State staff will be at their basketball game tonight against Clear Lake, which has 2025 four-star TE/DE Thomas Meyer in its lineup. These were three of the eight junior day visitors to ISU on Saturday. Tonight's game in Algona should start about 7:30-7:45.

I should say I want to give major props to TJ for everything, he has been incredible. I think he is actually improving as a game day coach right in front of our eyes.

But especially - I was thinking about the transfers he has brought in. Do we have any big ticket transfers from other P5 teams? No. Actually not one.

TJ has carved out a likely Top 20 team with a 16-4 record and near the top of the Big 12 with transfers from:

Buffalo (C. Jones)
Denver (R. Jones)
Eastern Kentucky (King)
VCU (Ward)
UNLV (Gilbert)
Wofford (Pav)

It takes an unbelievably sharp mind and game plan, as well as self-belief in what you want, to land SIX transfers from the mid-major or lower level (Wofford and E. Kentucky are low majors) and craft them together with your HS recruits and out of that brew, viola! Top tier Big 12 team as well as Top 20 in the country.

Think about that! Is there another P5 team that has this many mid-low major transfers that is having this kind of success? Just mind blowing. So far outside the box!!! Well done TJ!

I’m in New Orleans this week and the SEC AD meetings are going on in my hotel.

Was on the the elevator with the SEC head legal guy. He was already on when I got on. He asked what floor I was going to. Floor 2 (floor with bar) was lit. I said floor 2 seems like the place to go. He said “Yep, that’s where the booze is”

I told him, “You’ll have bigger meetings with the 2 new members. I’m a Big 12 guy from Iowa State.” He immediately responded “I’m guessing you’ll be cheering for the 49er’s”

Tyrese had 10 assists amd 13 points in the Pacers 129-124 loss in Boston tonight. He was pulled for good six minutes into the 3rd after his minutes were limited following the injury that forced him out of the last five games.
