Clearly half-time adjustments made a HUGE factor in this game. Indeed THEE difference........

On a cool day I did not have a red long-sleeved Cyclone shirt with me for our garage game watch, so I had to resort to wearing my red Cyclone polo shirt. Obviously that was not working. And as cold as our team was.... I switched to may gray Iowa State sweatshirt for the second half.

Along with that, I was drinking dark craft beer in the first half but decided to switch to a nice "gold" ale for the remainder of the game. I think "dark" was giving to many vibes to our dark opponents instead of us.

Lastly, I had no live chicken to sacrifice, but I did switch from brisket and ribs....again too dark.... to wings with a nice, bright red buffalo sauce applied. Jaboo responded effectively.

Half-time adjustments.... it's all about knowing what adjustments to make.

Came back from a 24-7 halftime deficit to win 27-24. North Dakota had 243 yards on the ground and once again owned time of possession big time.

That man is a god among men and you couldn't pay him enough money to match his value. What a game plan, what a defense.

Cannot say enough good things about this man, he is just the best in the business.

It was also a good day for Jim Percival shooting another Cy-Hawk game in Kinnick Stadium.

For those who want to watch Iowa State players in the NFL there is a college student plan for those with YouTubeTV for $199. Right now the NFL Ticket is $379. Couldn't find the discount on my YTTV page so google searched NFL Sunday Ticket Student Plan which took me to the appropriate page. Since my oldest just enrolled as a USD Coyote I had to sign into his USD college page to verify. Once that was done it took me to check out. Pretty simple. Get to watch my Bears, along with Bengals (just like them), Jets and 49ers now. Plus my youngest is a Browns fan.

I was in Story City tonight for my nephew's freshman football game, and had a quick chat! He hasn't aged a bit!

Plenty of people to be thankful for today but I am giving one more thank you to the good Lord that Jon Heacock is on our sidelines. He held the linebacking crew together with baling wire and duct tape and they bent a little....well more than a little at times but the defense dug in and got some huge stops. We will struggle at times this year I'm sure but with JH in our corner I always feel there is hope.

That kick was EVERYTHING

I haven't enjoyed an Iowa-Iowa State game as much since the 2002 game. It's always sweeter when Ioway thinks they're going to win and we pull the rug out from under them.

I am eating a large dish of crow including the feathers this evening. I never thought we would win this game. In my mind I thought we would lose by 30 after listening to the 1st half. Well done Cyclones. Well done. Pass the ketchup please.

If last year’s ratings were of little value due to the transfer portal and conference realignment, then a week where both Iowa and Iowa State played really weak teams makes the value even less. Even if the outcomes of the two games were different.
