FOOTBALL ***Defensive scholarship pipeline has been UPDATED***

As mentioned this afternoon in another thread, DE David Caulker has retired due to health reasons and S Norris Davis is moving on from the program for personal reasons.

Here’s an updated look at the defensive scholarship pipeline.

Recruit in action last night

I was able to watch Carson Van Dinter play in the WI state semifinals. We are getting a good one. He played safety and was everywhere on the field. People around me were commenting on how good he was. If there is one area he needs to work on, it would be controlling his emotions. He was pretty amped up and wiffed on a couple of plays because he was going for the big hit. The kid loves to hit big.

I was there representing the other team, Waunakee. Waunakee won 24-14. Waunakee’s tight end is going to UCLA. There are quite a few players that would be PWO offers for both teams. Just a lot of talent on the field. Not sure if we are recruiting any of them.

Carson will be a great fit for ISU’s defensive scheme. He has great size for the safety position.

Want to know why Penn St is so dominant. Check out these two high school sophomores from same high school in PA, Jax Forrest and Bo Bassett. Bassett was beat in the finals, but by a 4 time Princeton U All American.

Nebraska changing to winner take all in Electoral College possibly?

Nebraska is one of those states that splits its electoral votes by three districts. The district that include Omaha is traditionally a democratic vote. But the Governor is pushing for a bill to make it winner take all in the state(and they have the right to do this), and they are likely to vote on this soon.

What does this mean? That single vote in the Omaha district could make a very easy map to 269 for Trump, without having to win any rust belt swing states. So this means that an electoral map can easily be put together with Donald Trump getting to 269 EC votes, which would be a tie. And this map shows Trump losing all the rust belt swing states. So Nebraska by changing their law could make a very easy electoral map for Trump, with basically 269 votes could already be in the bank.

Nebraska goes winner take all in EC?

Also interesting today is that it appears that 50 senate seats are already guaranteed to the GOP. 49 GOP senate seats are considered basically safe at this point, and Joe Manchin is not running, and the GOP candidate has a 12-15 point lead. So Manchin's seat is flipping, this puts the Senate back to the GOP if Trump wins. And they could easily get more seats.
