Iowa State hoodie (update)

I ordered an Iowa State hoodie and hat online. I had no idea it was coming from China. Usually, when I try to buy something online from a foreign country, my bank freezes my card and doesn't allow the transaction, so the retailer for this purchase must have been in the U.S. for the transaction to go through. It took a month to get to me. It's made out of a strange material, not fleece. It almost feels like a rain slicker, but is still cloth. It's black and has a big red XII on the right sleeve, Iowa State Cyclones across the back in white letters, Iowa State, the Istate logo and Iowa State University Cyclones Basketball all in white lettering on the left breast. But the oddest thing about it is it's a left-hand zipper and it's very difficult to zip up. It wants to ride up the left side and leave the right side zip behind. I've never had a left hand zipper on anything. Also, my hat never came with it. Feeling like I got fleeced (pun intended) on this deal. It was $119 for the total package.

Cyclones to retire #22 ?

The BBC reported the Iowa State was going to retire #22. Ken Miller bought it hook, line and sinker on his show today and gave big kudos to Jamie Pollard. I can't imagine the backlash Pollard would get from Cyclones fans if he did such a thing.

BBC News Makes Embarrassing Mistake With Caitlin Clark Story

Personally I'm not in favor of retiring anyone's number. There's just too few numbers, time is hopefully hundreds and hundreds of years. You can't consume finite resources in a nearly infinite environment, when that environment doesn't replenish those resources.

***RELEASE: Iowa State 17th in Learfield Directors' Cup Standings***

Iowa State Media Relations

AMES, Iowa – An outstanding winter athletics season highlighted by national champions and NCAA Championship team success has propelled the Iowa State Athletics Department up to No. 17 in the Division I Learfield Directors’ Cup standings. Gymnastics, in which Iowa State reached the NCAA Championships, has not yet been added to the totals.

Iowa State has its highest ranking at this point in the year ever, surpassing the previous high of 20th in the 1996-97 winter standings. It is only the sixth time that the Cyclones have ever been in the Top 25 at the end of the winter (1996, 1997, 2000, 2010, 2022, 2024).

Iowa State currently ranks second among Big 12 schools, trailing only Texas, which is No. 2 in the team standings.

Iowa State had a banner winter season led by wrestling scoring 80 points for the Learfield Directors’ Cup behind a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Championships, its best finish since 2010. David Carr won his second national title, rolling to wins over the No. 1, 2 and 5 seeds to earn the 165-pound crown.

On the hardwood, the men’s basketball team reached the Sweet 16 and earned ISU 64 points. In women’s hoops, ISU advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and tallied 50 points toward the cause.

The men’s basketball and wrestling teams won their respective Big 12 Championships, while the women’s basketball program also advanced to the championship game.

Men’s and women’s indoor track and field provided a boost with a pair of Top-25 finishes. It was the first time both had finished inside the Top 25 since 1992.

The women’s team finished 20th in the team standings, adding 53 points to ISU’s total. The finish was aided by Sydney Willits becoming Iowa State’s first national champion in the long jump.

On the men’s side, ISU finished 23rd and tacked on 51 points for the Cyclones. The Cyclones were led by individual First-Team All-Americans Finley Mclear (800m) and Darius Kipyego (800m). The distance medley relay team of Ezekiel Rop, Gus Langford, Jason Gomez and Silas Winders also earned First-Team All-America accolades.

In the fall, Iowa State accumulated points from men’s and women’s cross country, football and volleyball.

Gravity fed charcoal smokers/grills

Does anyone have a gravity fed charcoal smoker/grill? There's really only 3 on the market, but looking into getting one as my current charcoal smoker/grill is about to fall apart.

I am NOT looking at pellet grills.

Looking for comments, pros, cons if you have one of the following:

Razorbacks must have gotten big $$ support from Walmart, Tyson & Stephens heir to get this done!

Holy crap!! Walmart, Tyson & Stephens all must have bank rolled this move! Now we'll be hearing "T J Otzelberger going to Kentucky!" talk!! If Kentucky was known for brewing great German beers, instead of distilling good whiskey, I might be a bit concerned!😏😏

Strange dream

Let me preface this by saying I don't normally have dreams like this, so lest you think I'm some kind of pervert, this is totally out of the realm of my normal dreams. Here goes. I dreamt I was reclining on a chaise lounge by a pool and Allison Janney was reclining spread eagle in another lounge facing me about two feet away. She was totally naked and pleasuring herself, all while leering lasciviously at me. That's it, that's the dream. My immediate question upon waking up is if I'm going to have a dream of this sort, why can't it be with ScarJo or Jennifer Lawrence in the starring role instead of Allison Janney. Just in case you don't know who that is, I've provided a photo.
