Added Southern Miss head coach Todd Monken because he fits the profile pretty well and there may be an opportunity to jump the competition. He's only 12-23 at Southern Miss, right? Right. But 8-3 this year after two rough rebuilding years; USM was 0-12 the year before he arrived. On the competitive landscape of this particular search, maybe just one year of success isn't enough for some other schools that are hiring that conceivably get to pick "ahead" of ISU. Salary estimate is $700K so the financial sense is there, too.
