Seems their father, Milton Wright, was a former educator and preacher who lived in Cedar Rapids in 1878 when Wilbur and Orville were 11 and 7. It was in Cedar Rapids where their father, while on a business trip for his church, found a toy helicopter made of rubber bands, balsa wood and cork. UNI had No. 1 South Dakota tied up at 28 all and South Dakota missed what would have been a game winning FG as time expired, but UNI was penalized for "jumping," I think they said, to try to block the FG. that gave South Dakota another chance from 10 yards closer and they made this one with no time on the clock.

Digging into West Virginia a little deeper as I get ready to write my game preview and saw that its leading rusher from last week CJ Donaldson is out for the season due to an injury. He had replaced an injured Tony Mathis in the lineup, and that back is questionable for this week. That would seem to leave Justin Johnson as the next man up and he's rushed for 285 yards and three touchdowns on 65 carries. This phase is looking to be an even bigger advantage for Iowa State, which is set to get Colby Reeder back.

I drove by the football facility and saw the new artwork installed. It was the one with the image of a football player cut into a large square block. I admit it didn't do too much for me when I saw the picture, but it looked really cool as I drove by a couple of times today. It's located in or near Abaugh Plaza, not far from the entrance of the new performance center building.

That is a great addition. I hope they can keep birds from nesting in it as it probably looks as good to them as it does to me.

Tyrese ( the beloved one) was an assist and a rebound short of a triple double last night as the Pacers beat the Heat 101-99. He had 22 points, meeting his 21.9 average for the season. He is averaging 9.3 assists and 5.1 rebounds. Fully expect there are triple doubles to come.

So happy for the players and coaches, and us! Needed that bad. Nice to have a game not having to hold my breath at the end of the game.

I actually feel really good about this one for the Cyclones. Mountaineers are getting gutted through the air and also aren't really forcing a lot of turnovers.
