Bear, hoax 36 debunked

We were told for two days that the Colorado Springs shooting was due to LGBTQIA+ hate, due to Tucker Carlson and Ron Desantis, and the Dont Say Gay bill, and was probably an NRA loving MAGA person.

Oops, MSM and their narrative wrong again. It was a non-binary (?) person who goes by they/them and uses Mx instead of Mr or Mrs. Seems like another right winger, just like the Pelosi nudist/BLM attacker.

CNN can’t believe it in real time.

FOOTBALL RECRUITING A couple of transfer portal kickers to keep an eye on

I wouldn't be surprised if Iowa State takes a serious look, and perhaps offers, these two placekickers that recently hit the transfer portal.

Proactive

If, and it's a really big if, the end of the football season brings about some major changes, I hope Coach Campbell is extremely proactive with his hires. Proactive to the extent that he's not sitting in his office going through resume's and deciding who he wants to interview, but actively reaching out to coaches he considers to be extremely successful at what they do (even if it's coaches that he would think there would be no way they'd ever consider leaving their current position). In that meeting he'll more than likely have with Jamie P at the end of the year I hope he says something like he realizes the problems and he has a plan to fix it and it's going to start with me pursuing coach x,y, and z, but if we can get them it's going to take a whole lot of money. So how bad do you want to fix the problem and how much can I spend? I'm not for spending money just for the sake of spending money, but I do think our main problems are going to require some a "wow" hires.

BASKETBALL RELEASE: Iowa State's Holmes Named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week

Iowa State Media Relations

IRVING, Texas - Iowa State senior guard Jaren Holmes has been named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for his performance last week at the Phil Knight Invitational.

Holmes helped Iowa State to a runner-up finish in the PKI Championship and was selected to the All-Tournament Team. He led the Cyclones in scoring on the week with 15.0 points per game, including 22 points in the win over No. 1 North Carolina. The senior guard averaged 31.7 minutes in the three games and scored double figures in each. Holmes also averaged 4.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals.

Iowa State returns to action on Wednesday against North Dakota. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum. The game is available on Big 12 Now.

Million dollar sale, but not the Cyclone Basketball Tickets

SAW THIS on a North Central US Radio/TV business blog about the sale of the radio station in Hampton. Last line is in an interesting one.

The deal includes the station’s licenses, studio facilities, and transmission equipment, but the seller will retain a pickup truck, computer, and Iowa State University basketball season tickets.

OT: Comedy

For the sake of the soul of American comedy, a play date needs to be scheduled as soon as possible between Joe Biden and Bill Walton. Also invited: Will Ferrell (to play Bill) and Darrell Hammond (to play Joe), and Bill Bryson (to write the record of the event).

There would be hours upon hours - if not days - of comedic raw material that could continue to be mined, and provide laughs until the Good Lord calls me home.

Someone needs to make this happen before it's too late.

I’m thankful we have Matt Campbell as our coach

I haven‘t posted in a while because of all the negativity about the football program and especially the coaching. And frankly there is one poster who has been on a continuous mission to bully other posters to his or her viewpoint against Campbell over and over again. But let’s look at some perspective. Campbell has made Iowa State relevant in football. He is a class act and the players love him. He is putting players in the NFL, a rarity for Iowa State. And he has been offered a myriad of other jobs by people a hell of a lot smarter than any of us. As for his record, take a look
2016. 3-9
2017 8-5
2019 8-5
2019 7-6
2020 9-3
2021 7-6
2022 so far 4-7
I'm not telling anyone else how to think, but keep perspective on where we are and where we came from. I love what MC has done for Iowa State, and I certainly hope we can keep him.
(not to mention the crappy refs he’s had to put up with)
