Cyclones' LB class gets deeper with Brezina commitment

Exile introduces their sWarm Beer today with 20% of revenue supporting SUI's NIL fund. I don't like warm beer. In fact I think they should export the entire batch to Europe.

Just announced on social media. Brezina was thought to be a Cyclone lean for several months now that wanted to play the process out a little longer into the offseason. He's decided to expedite that process and commit to Iowa State.

I’m thinking this Beth was brought in last year as Barta’s replacement. Went from Ball State AD to Iowa’s Athletic COO and Deputy Director.

They just need to go through the motions of a search to satisfy HR bs.

Our VB team is over in Greece, playing a bunch of games. We won the first one 3-0 June 1 over Olympiacos. There's some photos on the official site, along with some photos and videos on Twitter, Facebook and that newfangled instagram thingy.

I rebooted my computer this morning and now when I try to open up Cyclone Report it gives me a 403-Forbidden message and nothing loads. Has anyone else ever had this and what do I need to do.

I know, reiteration of the obvious. However, I found this funny - apparently the black and yellow bile played a baseball game in which 10 players were hit by pitches. At least half of those were funny. That's not the funniest. A squawk batter hits a home run (booooo) and the Indiana State outfielder pretends to catch it off the wall. The squawk reacts in disgust, then has to turn around and run the bases. What dweebs.

Anyone remember Danielson Ike? Big 2019 lineman from Coach Nate’s high school (Rockhurst). He had lots of P5 schools after him besides us, including Alabama and OU, then choose SMU. Played two years mostly on field goal duty. Did not play in 2021, and not on the roster in 2022.

He just signed with Missouri State to play for Bobby Petrino’s son-in-law.

Our 2022 offense was historically bad at scoring points - which is kind of the purpose. The reasons were:

1. Turnovers
2. Missed field goals
3. Poor Offensive Line Performance
4. Bad coaching of Oline, QB and particularly Offensive Coordinator
5. Inexplicable or untimely drops from receivers
6. Injuries

For 2023, it was/is hoped that coaching changes would address some of those issues. Now we are rumored to be down 4 potential starters. From names floated I am comfortable that QB and RB are 2 of those. The other 2 may be an OT and TE, 2 OTS, or a WR and an OT. A variety have been floated and I am not sure what the actual combination is. Or if the number is limited to 4 on offense and one on defense.

To me, our best bet is the new staff can overcome the loss of talent. The physical talents drop off at QB is significant. Hopefully this can be offset by better knowledge and poise. We will see.

But, let's face it. There was never going to be significant improvement without a big change on the offensive line performance. Losses of starters there are concerning. Particularly at tackle, the most identifiable weakness last year.

Can we overcome losses with coaching and scheme?

Cyclones become latest P5 offer for in-state DE

So we apparently self reported several players. Are those players suspended pending a ruling from the NCAA and will they not be participating in team activities next work?

Vlad Pavlenko, former track All American was just announced in the WWE NXT rookie class. Congratulations to him!

On this day 49 years ago I started work at Collins Radio Company in Cedar Rapids. Two days earlier I left behind my four year home in Ames, Iowa as a college graduate and ventured out into the real world.

My car was loaded up with the last of my stuff and off I went to my new apartment in Marion, Iowa. I made that trek on my own. I spent moving day totally occupied and didn't really think about it. I finished around 6:00pm. It was a Saturday and it was at that moment reality set in. I was in a new town, it was Saturday night and I didn't know anybody.

I hopped in the car and went for a drive. I pretty much got lost, but found my way back to Marion and I stopped at a bar. A guy at the bar drew a map on a napkin explaining the quadrants of Cedar Rapids and giving me a tutorial. I then realized one of my college acquaintances was from Marion. I gave her a call and she invited me over for a movie and popcorn. That helped me more than she will ever know. I still try to identify that farm whenever I venture north on highway 13. Today it looks nothing like it did then. I don't even know if the farm is still there.

41½ years later I left that job. My Iowa State education served me well. Now I'm just another idiot on a message board. At least I still get to work with computers. 🤓💻

Heard JT Rock is likely transferring to Dakota Valley, SD, (basically N Sioux City) who have won the last two championships in South Dakota and have a huge undefeated streak going. Better coaching, competition in practice, and he wants to play for a winner.

Don’t think it means anything for us, unless he blows up even more and the blue bloods come calling.
