Attendance

I hate to tell people what to do, but I feel like it’s time to stop showing up to Jack Trice. This is unacceptable, embarrassing, all of the above. I think those that do show up need to be vocal and let this offense know how it feels. The longer we have big crowds, the more this will prolong.

I’ve had it, and I won’t be back until there’s a reason to be. The leash for Campbell has to be short at this point.

Quarterback Thoughts

With camp ended and school starting, the focus really turns to football. It is only 2 weeks away.

Thus we have a chance to turn to positions. There are probably more positions open fo uncertainty than any season in recent memory. Defensive backfield is pretty set with the starters at all 5 positions.

Will linebacker will be Vaughn. Oneyedim and Petersen likely start at DE.

Hufford will start somewhere on the Oline and Miller will be one of the tackles. The rest, I am not sure.

At QB, I assume the coaches know who is number 1. Maybe they announce this week or at the pre-UNI Press Conference. Or MC still thinks there is some kind of coaching advantage to not announcing. I don't see that but I don't get paid 4.5 million to coach football, so there is that.

If we don't know who number 1 is or they truly intend to run a 2 QB system, I think we are in trouble. I am of the "if you have 2 QBs, you have no QBs" school. Worked with Hardeman/Stanley because they were to separate styles. I hope someone has taken charge.

I think it is prudent to remind everyone the reports from spring ball was Dekkers was the clear #1 - and it wasn't close.

What should happen when Constitutions are opposed to what politically motivates you.

This can impact anyone left, right, center. How about "common sense" gun control laws? Seems like the constitution makes any gun control law pretty much null and void. I got to thinking about this because the Governor of New Mexico has stirred up a huge mess in that state because she banned open carry and basically said screw the NM constitution and Screw the Federal constitution, she will do whatever she pleases. I personally have argued with people on various subjects, and let them know that the constitution forbids what they want to to do, and they basically say, can't we just ignore it for this.

I go with the constitution 100% of the time, even when it sucks to do so. This has a huge bearing on the so called polarization of America, becasue most of the so called polarization has to do with people wanting to do something that is unconstitutional (on every side) .

FOOTBALL ***Iowa State @ Ohio game prediction thread (please read the rules!)***

It's Ohio week, so let's get rolling with those predictions for the game against the Bobcats.

1) Winner & margin of victory. (ex: Iowa State by six)
2) Total points scored. (ex: 52 points)
3) TIEBREAKER: How many passing yards will Iowa State finish with?

Iowa State is currently a 2.5-point favorite and the over/under is 45 points.

Number one will be the first determiner and then I'll take whoever gets closest to the total points. If needed, I'll go to the total passing prediction to break a tie.

Contest winners will be rewarded as follows: first place (three free months added to your subscription); second place (two free months); third place (one free month).

Saban quote...related to coaching discussions

“I talk to the players a lot about internal standard versus external noise,” Saban began. “I think that we didn’t play great. So you know, people get upset that we get criticized. But why wouldn’t we get criticized if we don’t play well? I mean, people call me and say, ‘Hey man, this guy’s a jerk for saying this about you.’ No, he really isn’t. I mean, it’s right. We didn’t play good. I’m responsible for that. …” Saban said to reporters.

Feel free to discuss. This is why he is great at what he does.

And what so many people don't realize is once somebody acknowledges that, it takes a lot of the criticism away from them.
