I just saw a news story about an area of northwest Austin that just voted to secede from Austin. Add to that the Buckhead area of Atlanta that is breaking away and the St. George section of Bator Rouge that just won court rulings allowing them to secede; I wonder how many more poorly run Democrat cities are going to see sections break away?

In Houston in 1996 an area called Kingwood was annexed. The residents there were strongly against this move but didn't have much choice. Like most expansionist cities Houston took them over, gouged them with taxes and provided far worse services than the township had as an unincorporated part of the county.

I think it is great that citizens are standing up to corrupt city governments and exercising their right of free association, including the right not to be forcibly associated with craphole cities.

Mrs. LC and I went there yesterday. Not cheap, but good. Lots of napkins. We had mussels, crawfish, sausage, snow crab and lobster. All boiled and sauced, served with red potatoes and an ear of corn.

Next time, we're going to try the fried stuff, which looked good.

Turnovers by a first year player with 10 in a game last night. We all know players can have bad games but we were told repeatedly that CC was the greatest player to ever pull on a basketball jersey. Hmmm. How will hok fans and the Iowa media types spin this one and the other bad games coming from her?

Arrested on way to PGA Championship this morning. Guess a bus hit and killed a man crossing in the bus lane. Scottie tried to get around on the median but was stopped by an officer who pulled him out of the car, handcuffed him and took him to jail. Facing 4 charges, 3 misdemeaners and 1 felony. He's been realeased and will make his tee time since the accident delayed the start of the tourney. I understand he was in the wrong but also realize cops can be over zealous but I'm sure this guy was frazzled.

I’m not sure this has been covered yet on here, but JP says the new wrestling facility has been put on hold. The decision was made about three weeks ago. A casualty of the new world of college athletics with athletes being paid.

I’ll put together everything from JP’s time with the media in a piece tomorrow.

Imagination has to go for the lead and find out IF he can do the distance.

Iowa State will play its first-ever football game outside of the United States when it opens the 2025 season against Kansas State in the Aer LingusCollege Football Classic, August 23, 2025, at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.

"We are extremely grateful for this opportunity presented to us by Aer Lingus to provide the young men in our football program an unrivaled educational, cultural and athletic experience," said Jamie Pollard, Iowa State's Director of Athletics. "Iowa State fans enjoy a tremendous reputation for following the Cyclones wherever they play, and we look forward to seeing them travel with us to The Emerald Isle for the 2025 season-opener."

Cyclone fans may choose between travel packages and hospitality packages which both include game tickets in Iowa State sections. All-inclusive travel packages include premium game tickets (in-stadium hospitality available as an optional upgrade), luxury hotel accommodations, exclusive Iowa State Welcome Experience and more. Or select a game day hospitality package that includes premium in-stadium hospitality with food and drinks and premium game tickets.
