AMES, Iowa – MatScouts has announced its top 30 recruiting classes in the country, with the Iowa State wrestling class coming in at number two on the list. It is the top-ranked class in the Big 12 and only behind Ohio State on the national list.

Three incoming Cyclones are ranked in the top 20 in the nation, led by third-ranked Casey Swiderski from Dundee, Mich. MJ Gaitan comes in at No. 14, while Manny Rojas is 19th. Connor Euton and Ethan Perryman are also ranked in the top 100, with Euton at No. 77 and Perryman at No. 85.

“We are really excited about this class,” head coach Kevin Dresser said. “Lots of big names and lots of names who can develop into some really big names! It will be a very big freshman class also. It will be fun to watch them all compete over the next five years!"

The incoming class has combined for 16 state titles, with six of them coming during the 2022 season. Swiderski and Carter Fousek (Crestwood, Iowa) are both four-time state champions, while Euton and Rojas have each won a pair of titles.
