Would the NCAA subconsiously try to avoid matchups of recent years? Looking at Lunardis bracket, he has potential matchups of WSU with Kentucky, Wisconsin and Kentucy, Iowa State and Kentucky, Louisville and Kentucky. I doubt they want to match up KU with Kentucky either. These are all matchups that have happedn in the last year or 2. However, you look at the 2,3,4 seeds in other regions, and you see teams that may never have played Kentucky, at least not in modern memory. So why not spread the hurt around, why should the same teams keep getting stuck with Kentucky from year to year. Has Gonzaga or Arizona played Kentucky in recent years. How about Notre Dame? How about switching UNI for WSU against Kentucky? Why not mix it up for a change. ISU has faced Kentucky at least twice before in the NCAA.
