On the "What's Bugging Andy" segment on SoundOff last night on WHO-13, Andy was discussing legends, and what makes a legend. In particular he was talking about Tyrese Halliburton. I don't know that Andy came to a conclusion, but I thought it was interesting to ponder.

Is Tyrese a Cyclone legend?

Andy was mentioning legends for body of work, and legends for a moment.

Not in his segment, but consider Lafester Rhodes. He is a Cyclone legend, IMO. But it was for one game, not his body of work at ISU. On the flip side, you have Fred Hoiberg. He is a body of work legend, but he doesn't really have a defining moment or play, IMO.

So that brings back to Tyrese. Does he have a defining moment or game while playing? One doesn't particularly come to mind to me. And then for his career at ISU, he was good, but I can easily come up with 10 guys who had a better ISU career. Is Tyrese a Cyclone legend for winning Olympic gold? Is he a Cyclone legend because he will probably end his NBA career passing Hornacek as the greatest NBA Cyclone?

I don't really have an answer, just thought it was interesting to ponder. HERE is the segment if you want to watch.
