Offensive passing game script was... throw that in the trash. We gave away a very good defensive performance

OSU did what they did last year. Covered Kolar and easily covered the other tight ends and game over. Purdy is so focused on Kolar and the tight ends he can hardly see anything else. He WAS NOT PRESSURED early in the game before half.

Manning didn't help Purdy and Purdy didnt help himself.

My god our wideouts did two things all game run straight up the field or run a one cut short route.

Specific plays
1. Manning made a couple pretty good pass route calls vs man in the first half. Purdy quit on the first one and ran for about 9 yards. Hall was wide open in the flat. The second Hall came out of the backfield was held running by the backer but cleared it out for Hutchison. Purdy again quits on the play and looks for Kolar. No pressure either time. Imcomplete pass.. big play miss.

2. Chase Allen was as wide open (nobody covered him) with open field behind him as it ever gets. Low throw by Purdy and stupid by Allen to go to the ground. Most people score on that. Score was 7-14 then. ISU offense in back to back series before half were just awful.

3. The rest of the passing game involved no double moves by wideouts... forced throws to tight ends who were covered all game. What ISU did with their wideouts all game is just incredibly stupid against what OSU was doing.

The lack of double moves, rub routes or passes to faster wideouts made this game almost impossible for ISU to win. Purdy's insistence on always going to Kolar or a tight end cost us two years in a row vs OSU.

How anyone thought our tight ends were going to beat their very good safeties all day is beyond me. They owned our tight ends.
