For those who haven't been to Ames for a while, a large chunk of the new bridge is done. Supporting pillars on both sides of University...the long approach and walkway coming from the East....and now, most of the walkway leading into the stadium. If a bridge can add awesomeness to the look of the stadium, this bridge will do it, in my opinion.
But I am still confused....I thought one major purpose of the bridge was to alleviate the bottleneck of fans crossing at the University/S 16th Street intersection from the southern and eastern tailgating lots.
They surely aren't planning to funnel all those fans across the sports' fields way down to the bridge, are they?
