First, prayers to all those affected by the air disaster in Washington DC, especially but not limited to the families of those who perished last evening. A horrific event.
Having retired from the travel industry, this hits close to home. The airline industry has provided us with full confidence for so many years--not one fatal commercial airline accident since 2010. That is remarkable, and a testimony to the thousands upon thousands of personnel involved over the years.
With this said, I and others in the industry have been bracing for something like this to happen. There have been some "near misses" in recent times, and sadly I think we knew something like this was coming.
This may not be the time. But since President Trump opened the door today, and since my wife is flying on a commercial jet today, I am going to bring it up:
The FAA, our military, and American Airlines (along with other US airlines) have saddled themselves with the absolute DEI bullshit.
Hours upon hours of DEI training has taken away from crucial time that should be dedicated to the absolute safety of our air system. All in the name of DEI.
In addition, hires have been made in the name of DEI, including the past transportation secretary, Pete Buttigieg...who many know was not the best candidate for the position.
This policy has been despicable, and lies on the shoulders our Democratic party who have shoved DEI down our country's throats.
Fortunately, some of this is changing, but preliminary indications are that this accident that happened last night absolutely should not have occurred.
Shame on our Democrats and their DEI agenda. There is blood on their hands.
