Occasionally stop at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Omaha to pay my respects. As I’m sitting at his grave I started remembering some of the forgotten great players that passed thru the program. Stevie was one of them for me.
Stevie was a huge get. I remember other programs wanted him as a LB and McCarney kept his word and recruited him as a running back. If injuries wouldn’t have prolonged him who knows where his potential would have taken him. RIP Stevie!
