The SCOTUS ruled that bump stock restrictions are not legal. They actually overturned a bump stock act that was put in place by Trump. Bump stocks can make if easier for a rifle to fire faster, still requiring each shot to have a finger pull, so not a machine gun. Personally, this is one of those laws that are put in place to make people feel better, while actually not doing a darn thing. Bump stocks can be made at home. You can print them with a 3D printer, you could probably make one from wood or metal at home, or easily make a bump stock using the belt on your pants. Are we going to outlaw all of these things as well? So the original restriction was meaningless.

But what is more important from the ruling, is that it rules that government agencies can not create law, or expand the intent of a law, it must come from congress, thus this was actually a huge attack on the deep state. And the 2nd most important thing taken from the ruling is that the DEMS blew it, Sotomeyer in the dissenting opinion, screwed up big time, she admitted that the so called "Assault Rifles" are common use weapons. She just destroyed her own parties desire to ban assault rifles, she just admitted they are common use, so all arguments for banning them are now worthless. Her words.
