IRVING, Texas - For the fifth time in the last seven weeks, Iowa State men's basketball junior Joshua Jefferson has been named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week.

Jefferson was honored as the Cyclones defeated UCF and Arizona State this week. In the 108-83 win over the Knights, the junior from Las Vegas had 30 points, seven rebounds, five assists, four steals and a block to become the first player in Conference history to reach those totals in the same game. The forward notched the first 30-point game for a Cyclone since 2022-23, as ISU had the highest scoring total for a Big 12 team since 2017-18. The St. Mary's transfer had his eighth double-double of the season as Iowa State defeated Arizona State 76-61, finishing with 13 points, 10 rebounds while nabbing another four steals.

The No. 3 Cyclones return to action Monday night, facing Arizona on ESPN's Big Monday. Tipoff is set for 9:30 p.m. (CT) on ESPN.
