AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis team continued its ascent in the national rankings, sitting at No. 4 in the first Division I ITA Collegiate Tennis National Team computerized rankings.

The No. 4 ranking is the highest in school history and the Cyclones are the top-ranked Big 12 team in the poll.

Four Cyclones are listed in the singles poll, led by Thasaporn Naklo at No. 54. Miska Kadleckova jumped from No. 123 to No. 63 in this week’s rankings. Kadleckova is 11-0 in dual matches after earning her second-straight 6-0, 6-0 sweep last weekend. In doubles play, Kajuru and Chie Kezuka are No. 32, while Naklo and Kuearum are also in the Top 40 at No. 39. Kadleckova and Kajuru are ranked No. 59.

Iowa State is one of three teams nationally with four singles players and three doubles teams in the national rankings, joining UNC and Texas A&M.

The Cyclones return to action Friday at No. 40 Iowa in an Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series matchup that starts at 5 p.m.
