2. Beale St while fun, really needs a large infusion of capital. Heck, the entire city does. Talked with a couple of local movers & shakers and Nashville is attracting the lion’s share of capital because of several factors: better educated workforce, much lower crime rate, local government is much easier and less expensive to work with, etc...
3. Forgot how bad it is to sit in a bar/restaurant that allows smoking
4. The lack of preparation by the Beale St area establishments was utterly stunning. How did they not know crowds were going to be huge.
5. Des Moines metro >>> Memphis metro area on almost every metric
