Obviously this season has been a huge let down going from the Top 10 to not even receiving any votes in the AP poll.
I really can’t stand the “off by a hair” and other canned comments in press conferences, but I get it.
Regardless of how this season has gone and what happens over the next 2 weeks, this is how I truly feel about Matt Campbell.
If I had a son going to spend 4-5 years playing D1 football, I don’t know of another coach that I would want him to play for. There is an entire life beyond football and I believe he is building character, integrity, perseverance and other critical character traits in these young men who are still learning and developing.
I don’t have a son, however if one of my young daughters would someday decide to date and/or marry a D1 football player, I would want him to have played for Coach Matt Campbell.
After the final whistle blows and the emotion subsides from a Texas Tech or West Virginia loss. Clarity sets in and these are my thoughts.
