Seems like a lot of people on twitter think that the players are getting ripped off by the NCAA/schools. It's an interesting debate. Since it's the slow time of year, this might be a fun topic to discuss. The NCAA is looking at changing the rules to allow players to profit from their likeness. What I'd like to know is what stops a booster from giving a player $50k for an autograph? And what stops schools from using that as a recruiting advantage? Also, if players get paid, how long until a lawsuit shows up forcing schools to pay soccer or softball athletes, who work just as hard as FB/MBB players?

I'm all for players getting a bigger piece of the pie, but not if it results in a less level playing field than already exists. I'd actually be really happy if EA Sports was able to start making a college FB game again and if each player in the game got the same amount as a royalty, that would be great.
