American Pharoah just won an exciting Derby in just a little over 2:03. In 1973 Secreratiat won with a track record of 1:59.40, which still stands today. Over 40 years later. Secretariat still holds the Belmont record in a race he wasn't pushed, winning by over 32 lengths. There was an electonic timing failure at the Preakness, but his hand held time is still the best and by imposing the video of his race against the official winner Secretariat won. Gets my vote for Greatest Athlete ever.
