Today is the 153rd running. Back in 1973 Secretariat gave us possibly the greatest single athletic performance of all time IMO. Beat the track record by 2 3/5 seconds without being pushed. Record still stands today. There hadn’t been a Triple Crown winner in 25 years. As a 15 year old Secretariat left a lifelong impression on me I still feel today. Always wanted to take a trip to see Big Red but unfortunately never got around to it.
