Just saw in the Trib that Okoboji Grill is closing down. Used to be by North Grand, and has been on South Duff since 2007. Was there a couple times, it was ok, nothing great.
To that, I don't go out to eat a lot, and I don't have a big favorite in Ames. I like to just try different places. Since it is the offseason, just looking for reviews of a couple places in Ames.
1. Bufords--at the hotel (Quality Inn?) out at I-35 and 13th. I was there a about 10 years ago. I thought it wasn't very good, and my service wasn't very good either. Haven't been back. But it is still in business, so they must be doing ok. But I honestly have never heard of anyone going there to eat. Anybody been there lately?
2. Red Lobster. I've lived around here for 18 years and have never been there. I went to a Red Slobster in Charleston, WV, and it was really bad, so never went to any other. How is that place?
3. Noodles. I see it on South Duff. I'm assuming it is a chain of some kind. Never have heard of anybody having been there before.
