Fred came in with his "tranfer" way of building ISU. Players like Anderson, White, Allen, Clyburn, McGee, Babb Lucious, Kane, Hogue, McKay, DeJean-Jones, Nader, Cook, Burton, Weiler-Babb. The early players were all "hits." Some head cases, but all were positive, in the sum, to the team. The names, through Hogue, all bring positive memories for us. McKay, DeJean-Jones, Nader and Cook bring a mixed bag. Some on court success, a lot of on-court inconsistency, and a number of "scratch your head" moments. Babb's younger brother is not included, since he is red-shirting and there have been several reports that he is using the redshirt year well. But, essentially, we hit on 9 transfers pretty solidly and then the last 4 have been not so solid.
Law of Averages? Tighter Market with other schools adopting the "Fred Plan?" Fred's NBA flirting? Perceived less need with 4 traditional 4-year players returning? (Matt, Georges, Monte, Naz)
Or, water seeking it's own level?
