What a wonderful, wonderful event put on last night at the stadium. Another big-time marketing success for Jamie, Coach Campbell, the Gridiron Club and the athletic department. If anyone was hesitating about renewing their south end zone seat package for this fall before attending, they'd be writing a check this morning to renew if they could. Just an all round classy job done by the coaches and those who organized the affair.
They said it was limited to 2,000. I arrived at 5:20 and the parking lot was already pretty full. I had to wait for a friend to arrive....he got there at 5:35 and I was concerned he might miss the 2,000 person cut-off because there were so many people streaming in. The place was packed with fans.
This was my first time in the new facility, and I was impressed. Can't wait for my children to get a little farther along in their life so that I can join and enjoy the south end zone fun.
This coaching staff is amazing and exudes confidence. I loved the old staff (that could actually be taken literally), but this staff is young and energetic and has bigger things in mind than 6 win seasons. You can just tell it by the excitement and confidence in their talks. They all seem very grateful for the opportunity to be coaching at Iowa State. They seem very sincere about that. And I think they have no intention in screwing it up.
